I am Nicte Canek.
Nicte meaning "mayflower"or just "flower", and Canek as in "sky star".
It is believed that everyone and everything has a certain degree of K'uh.
People call it many names such as one's soul, divinity, sacredness, a life force and so on. This unseen power is within every creature, supernatural or not. And within every object or thing.
My teacher was my mother, and I was taught many things. She emphasized one thing, and that was very simple.
Nothing on this living earth lasts forever.
There are lifecycles for everything; Life and death rule over this mystical soil, and change is uncontrollable.
In a world where there is good, there is evil—That is wise judgment, and it applies to everything. Humans, animals, and supernatural creatures like me.
I am grew older I've gained an understanding that greed is everywhere. Especially among the living.
Humans. Vampires. Werewolves. Fairies. Witches. Everyone has a drop of greediness within them—Craving power, status, money, immortality, pleasure, love, happiness.
We are all made to be selfish creatures, but it is not until we become one with the earth and sky that we will finally find peace.
For that to happen, we must welcome death with open arms.

The sound of my metal door chime jerks me back to reality. I glanced at the incoming customers.
"Welcome!" I greet the pair with a smile. How lovely. A father with their child in hand.
The man was tall with lanky limbs and chestnut brown hair. He was dressed in a casual outfit, neatly ironed shirt and's pants. The little girl beside him was in a cute ruffled yellow sundress. She reached up to her father's hip, with golden brown locks.
"What kind of flowers should we get for Mommy this time Jessie?" I hear the man ask the small girl as they walked further into the shop.
I turn my back to them and picked up from where I was preparing and cutting roses.
I grabbed a bright orange-yellow rose and plucked some it the leaves off the strong stem.
'I might need to order more of these, they've been selling quite well lately.'
I hum in thought, taking a glance at the pair as they shifted closer to the counter.
"I don't know Daddy! There's hundreds of pretty flowers here! It's so hard to just choose one!" Little Jessie exclaimed indecisively. Her bright yellow sundress matched perfectly with her glittery shoes.
I smile to myself as cut the bottom of the rose stem diagonally.
"You are right sweetheart. Then how about we take a look at the classic roses, help me pick out the color yeah?" The both wondered off to the section of roses to have their pick.
I continue to clean and arrange the dozen of orange roses for the display. I was just finishing cutting one when something caught my eye.
A small light, the size of a ping-pong ball zoomed passed me towards the pair. I was startled by the swift movement and shifted towards the two customers.
The small light glowed a soft yellow hue and it danced around the two humans, but more so around the little girl.
A part of a K'uhul.
