A sigh escapes me as I open the door of the newly bought house that will now become my home for the time being.
The smell of elderly humans and sweet artificial cookie scented candles irked me.
'I need to get rid of this disgusting smell before it becomes a problem.'
The door closed with a click and I heard the tapping on a keyboard and paperwork being done from the living area.
"You're late." I hear Elijah grumble with an annoyed voice. I move to take off my coat and steal a quick glance at my watch. 'Oops.'
"I apologize for making you wait. You know I had to run around town for a look." I hang my coat and walk towards the living space where Elijah was.
I pass several unpacked boxes and bags that for the meantime will stay where they are for a couple of days.
I enter the living area and lean against the wall with my arms crossed. I watch Elijah flip through papers with a pen in hand.
He looked tired. And when he looked tired he looked scary.
With rather small dark circles under his almost golden eyes, a deep frown placed upon his thick eyebrows.
Not to mention the scar that ran diagonally across his perfectly shaped lips. A very frightening sight for a child if you ask me.His black curly hair looked like it was brushed through hundreds of times.
He really needs to lose that habit of combing it with his fingers whenever he's stressed.I noticed he was dressed in his sleepwear. The same black skin fitted t-shirt that hugged his toned torso, and displayed his sunkissed arms.
He was wearing his favorite checkered pajama pants along with his dull gray house slippers.
I scanned the coffee table filled with more papers, folders, a cup of coffee and his laptop.
'And here I thought he was on "break".'
I watch him work in silence, admiring his handsome face until his eyes finally met mine."Well, how was it?" He asks with a raised brow. I look to the side and hum, thinking of my exploring.
"Not horrible, it was quite decent actually. More then I expected so to say." I walk over to sit on a large box that was set beside the window.
"There are more humans here than I thought, it will be difficult to locate her." Elijah agrees with a grunt.
"This town is not claimed either. Not for another 200 miles at least. If she's well hidden, it will be quite the search." I listen as tap my fingers against the sturdy cardboard of the box I'm currently sitting on.
"Neutral territory. Who would've thought she'd lurk here. Quite an interesting thing, that woman." I stand up and walk closer to the window to stare out into the dark glistening waters of the big lake near the house.
"I still don't understand why you handpicked this house out of all the other possible options. You know I hate water." I mumble as I glare at the body of water.
I hear Elijah set his papers down along with his pen. I feel him come closer so that he stood directly behind me.
I turn my head slightly to catch him staring at me with pinched eyebrows. I move to face him properly before his hand went to my neck and pulled me closer.
He held me tight and snug leaving me no chance at escaping him. He then leaned down to sniff at my collar, taking in my scent.
"Did you feed?" He asks me with a stern voice. His eyes dimly glowed their yellow hue.
