Draco Malfoy-requested

"Green? Why Y/N?" Hermione questioned her sister as they were dress shopping for the Yule Ball. "I really like green, Mione," Y/N shrugged.

Two girls passed by, saying hi to Hermione, completely disregarding Y/N. This was a common occurance, people walking past Y/N to get to her sister. She didn't mind, Hermione was part of the golden trio, and Y/N wasn't. It had been this way for years.
"You rarely wear green?"
"So maybe I want to start?"
Hermione frowned, but Y/N was distracted because Draco had appeared at the shop window, beckoning to her.
"I think I've got my dress so I'm gonna head back to the castle, but Harry and Ron are in the Broomsticks, bye mione!"
Y/N rushed out of the shop, following Draco into a nearby alley, the two sharing a searing kiss as soon as they were covered by shadows.
"You have no idea how long I've waited to do that!"
"Draco, you saw me two hours ago!"
"Two hours too long my darling."
Y/N playfully rolled her eyes, giving Draco a kiss on the cheek, which he managed to turn into a make out session. He dragged his fingers through her hair, pulling away gently. "There's something I need to ask you, love."
"What is it?"
"Will you go to the yule ball with me?"
"Silly, we're already going together, I've managed to convince Harry and Ron to go in a group, so Neville's coming too, he's bringing Ginny, who's got Dean to ask Luna so she can come and Luna is cousins with Pansy, who is joining with her date, Archie. Pansy and you are friends,  and you like Archie, so it won't raise eyebrows if you're there!"
"That's great and all, but I meant, do you want to go with me? Just me?"
"I don't understand?"
"Make our relationship public?"
"But, Draco? What about your family!"
"Hang them, I love you and I want to go to the ball with you, so I'm asking, do you want to go with me, just me?"
"Of course I do you numpty!" Draco smiled, leaning in to kiss his girlfriend again. "I love the colour of your dress darling," he said, walking away, "it would look so nice on my floor."
"Draco!!"

Y/N smoothed her dress, the silky green fabric smooth under her fingers. It was the yule ball, and Draco had decided they would take their relationship public, and Y/N couldn't wait.

Well she could, she was scared that Draco's family could break them apart, but they loved each other, and that meant it was time to take the next step.

Hermione came and stood next to her sister, telling her how beautiful she was. "Go on Hermione,  Krum's waiting. I just need a minute."
Hermione walked down the stairs, smiling back at her sister before greeting Krum at the bottom. People turned and looked at her in awe as she descended the stairs, fuelling Y/N's anxiety.

"Hermione? Where's Y/N?" Ron and Harry stood at the stairs, looking very formal in their suits. "She's just coming, Y/N!"
Now or never, Y/N thought. She placed her high heeled foot on the stairs, the sound catching people's attention, all turning to look at her as she picked up her skirts and walked regally down the stairs.

Ron and Harry stood in awe, the dress highlighting all of Y/N's good features, in fact, the boys couldn't find any bad features.

"Blimey, you clean up nice Y/N!"
"Thanks, Ron, elegantly put as always."
"Y/N? Who asked you?"
"Erm?"
"Me."

The boys turned around to see Draco, dressed in a black suit with a emerald tie and waistcoat, holding his hand out to Y/N.

She giggled and took it, Draco spinning her in and giving her a kiss on the cheek, causing the girl to blush. 
Her friends stood with their jaws hanging open, alarmed by the new development.
"Bloody hell. How long Y/N?"
Y/N placed her hand on her boyfriends chest, turning to her friends. "Since last year when he got hurt by Buckbeak, I helped him to the hospital wing after Hagrid had to go back to his class."
"And the rest is history." Draco said, looking deeply into her eyes.
"Bloody hell that's disgusting."
"RON!"
"Mione! Your sister is dating malfoy! MALFOY!"
"AND? Look at her, she's happy!"
Ron looked over to the couple who were giggling and smiling together. "Fine! She's happy."
"Well, Malfoy, I suppose we should put our rivalry to bed, for Y/N's sake."
"Yeah, Potter, I'm really sorry. I've acted like a dick for the past few years, but Y/N has shown me I don't have to pretend to like what my parents want me to do and I can stand up to them. I would love it if we could put the old Gryffindor and Slytherin rivalry to bed, it's abominable. "
"Alright Malfoy." The pair shook hands before Harry disappeared off to do the Champion's first dance.
"We better go, Y/N/N, the ball is starting soon."
" Oh right! Let's go!" The pair waved their goodbyes before settling into the crowd.

After the champions disastrous first dance, Neville led Ginny to the dance floor, starting off a waltz. Couples followed, crowding the dance floor until it all stopped. Draco Malfoy had led the muggleborn Y/N Y/L/N to the floor, and the pair were currently kissing. The people around them were shocked, to say the least. Girls cried over Draco's unavailability, pansy taking it worst. Boys shook their heads and patted each other on the back, Y/L/N was no longer available.

The pair didn't notice the hall stop breathing, they were too absorbed in each other. Too in love. And it stayed that way the entire night.
