9. A special kiss

Jisoo sat on the bleachers with her friends after school, she watched as Chaeyoung was practicing with her teammates. Lisa slapped her hand on the older girl's back and smiled,

"Dude, you gotta make a move on Chae." Lisa says, "A girl like that can't keep waiting."

"I don't thinks she likes me in that way." Jisoo pushed her off, "I don't know what goes on in her mind."

"Trust me, she likes you," Jennie spoke up, she looked up at the two while filing her nails.

"How do you know?" Jisoo asked, "She told you?"

"No, but by the way she acts with you? Even a blind person could tell by her voice." Jennie rolled her eyes, "just man up."

"She doesn't like me like that." Jisoo says, "We're just friends, Guys."

"So you wouldn't mind if I shoot my shot?" Lisa asked.

"You wouldn't mind if I killed you right now?" Jisoo shot back.

"Okay! Okay! You win."

It was a routine for the brunette to wait for the blonde after practices, she enjoyed it even if Chaeyoung told her not to wait. Jennie and Lisa didn't plan to stay with her since they had other stuff to do (or who to do) so soon it became just Jisoo.

She didn't mind waiting the 30 minutes since she got her homework done, the brunette saw them running the track and she made a face at the blonde every time she passed by. Chaeyoung would flip her off causing the brunette to laugh, it was their favorite game.

Chaeyoung's teammates saw the interaction and smiled at their teammates, it was soon after that their coach told them to hit the locker room.

"Hey Chaeyoung, you're girlfriend always showed up to practice!" Joy, one of her teammates, says with the others agreeing.

"We're not dating." Chaeyoung smiles.

"I call bullshit, she looks at you with heart eyes!" Irene says, "How are you two still friends?"

"Irene's right, with someone like her? I'd date her." Joy agreed.

"Back off." Chaeyoung says as she opened her locker, "Jisoo isn't up for grabs."

"Oh? Is our Chaeyoung going to ask her out then?" Yerim spoke up, "Or shall I?"

"Fine, I like Jisoo. I'm just scared, what if our friendship-"

"Chaeyoung, you're thinking too much. Sometimes you have to bite the bullet." Irene says, "And if you don't? You're going to regret it."

Chaeyoung didn't respond. She looked at the picture of her and Jisoo inside her locker, was she going to risk their friendship?

Was Chaeyoung ready for that?

"Chae!"

Jisoo's eyes lit up seeing her friend walk over, Chaeyoung smiles seeing her favorite nerd standing there. She says goodbye to her teammates before running over to the girl.

"Was I great?" Chaeyoung asked once she walked over.

"Always," Jisoo says, she pulled out a candy bar for the girl to eat.

"You know me so well," Chaeyoung says holding the bar to her chest.

"Well, I've known you my whole life~" Jisoo winked.

The two friends walked over to Jisoo's car, the one that Jisoo's parents bought her. The brunette would drive her friends around and even participate in Lisa's crazy antics.

"Jennie and Lisa didn't want to stay?" Chaeyoung asked once they got inside.

"No, they had plans after. So it was just me again." Jisoo replied.

"Don't you get bored? I mean, you sit there for 2 hours."

"It's alright, it's worth it." Jisoo smiles.

That. That right there made Chaeyoung's heart race.

The car ride was constant of karaoke, gossip, and small stupid ideas that made it fun. Whether it was about Chaeyoung's dislike for avocados, Jisoo's obsession with flavored milk, or the argument that mangos are good or not. It was the best car ride that she looked forward to.

Maybe it was how Jisoo talked about her day, the secret candy stash in the glove compartment, or the hello kitty plush she gave the girl hanging on the rearview mirror.

The blonde stared at the brunette for the whole ride not knowing it ended until Jisoo stopped the car, the brunette looked over seeing the blonde looking at her already.

"And you're home." Jisoo says, "Gonna pay me? My service isn't free." She joked.

"I'll pay you," Chaeyoung says she unbuckled her seatbelt.

"I'm expecting some hard ca-"

The blonde made the move.

Chaeyoung leaned over to press her lips against the brunette's, it felt right. Because it only took moments before Jisoo accidentally hit the horn, which made Chaeyoung pull away.

"Wow." Jisoo replied wide-eyed, "Umm..."

"Did you like it?" Chaeyoung nervously asked.

"I'm- I- Well- Chae." Jisoo tried to speak, "I like you too." She smiled.

"You do?"

"I always have." Jisoo smiles happily, "I think I'm having a heart attack but I'm so happy right now." Jisoo says.

"So..."

"Do you, do you wanna go on a date this Saturday?" Jisoo asked.

"That fast Kim?" Chaeyoung jokes.

"If it gets you to marry me faster than yes," Jisoo replied.

"Okay." Chaeyoung exited the car, "I expect the best date of my life if you're going to be "wooing" me now."

"I guarantee you, it'll be the best one of your life."
