The families returned to sunny Florida just after Christmas and before New Year's Eve in 1997.

"I love the snow, but I'm happy to be back home" Said Danielle.

"Me too." Said Gabriel. "I guess it was just too cold for me."

The couple invited Ariel and Cassandra as well as other family members and friends to celebrate New Year's together, including Marty and Linda. It would be the first time they'd really face each other since the miscarriage.

When he saw her, Marty pulled Linda aside to talk to her.

"Linda, I am so so sorry for the awful things I said to you. It's no excuse, I was just hurt that I didn't know about our baby, and then found out I had one that I lost. But it doesn't justify it, and I'm sorry."

"I didn't tell you because I didn't know how you'd react." Said Linda. "I didn't know if you'd want a baby, or to be involved."

"Why would you think that?!" Said Marty. "I would've been the best father I could be! And given that we frequently spent time together, it wouldn't have been unexpected."

"I realize that." Said Linda. "And for that, I'm terribly sorry."

They had a long conversation which ended with a hug and them agreeing to remain friends. The Hernandez couples overheard the conversation, as did some of the other party guests.

Finally, midnight was approaching. Everyone gathered around the TV and they counted down to the new year along with those on TV before yelling "HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!"

As everyone wished each other a happy 1998, ABBA's song aptly named song played in the background.

Everyone then went onto the balcony to watch the beautiful fireworks. The glittering fireworks came in all colors, making the sparkly night sky look absolutely magical.

After everyone left, Danielle went to the bedroom to get ready for bed. Gabriel saw her in her bra and panties, brushing her hair while she sat in front of the mirror. She looked so beautiful.

She went to hang her dress in the closet when she heard a familiar tune playing as she unhooked her bra. Gabriel put on their lovemaking song "Passion" by the Gipsy Kings on their stereo before walking up to her from behind and reaching out to touch her. That song played at the beginning of each lovemaking since their wedding night.

Danielle turned around to touch him back, and he started to kiss her. As he touched her body his kiss turned more and more passionate, before briefly pausing to remove his shirt before carrying her over to their bed.

She swiftly lay on the bed, with him on top of her as he ravished her body, kissing her beautiful form before removing his pants. He thrust into her wantonly, so hard that he brought her to orgasm very quickly.

Her moment of greatest pleasure during sex got him over the edge too, and after he came he lay next to her, sweaty, with his arm still around her. He rolled onto his side, putting his leg over hers and his arm across her body, holding her hand. He kissed her lips before the couple both drifted off.

They woke up in the morning, and they saw out there window that the sky was a perfect blue, without a single cloud in sight.

The couple decided to stay in bed a little longer, holding each other and being close before getting up later in the morning, to meet Ariel and Cassandra for breakfast.

Once she got dressed, Danielle went onto the balcony to breathe in the air and gaze at the crisp blue sky. Gabriel embraced her and kissed her neck, just before they left home.

They met the other Hernandez couple at their local Cuban cafe in Little Havana that they used to hang out in even before they were married.

The Hernandez couples discussed what their plans were for the new year, both musically and personally. The last several years were a whirlwind, and now things were settling. But they weren't fussed about whether or not their new music would chart as well. Both couples were set for life financially, but still enjoyed expressing themselves creatively.
