Santana frantically ran around her dorm; dresses were thrown all over the place. Once again, Kara just stood off to the side and watched.
"I don't know what to wear!" Santana exclaimed.
"We're just grabbing a few drinks, I don't think anyone's going to care what you're wearing," Kara said.
Santana shot her friend a glare. Kara raised her hands then turned away to grab a piece of jewellery.
"Are you worried Quinn's not going to like what you wear?" Kara wondered.
Santana froze. She didn't even think about that- at least she didn't think she was thinking about that. But the longer she stayed still and quiet, the more it dawned on her.
"And what if that is the reason?" Santana raised an eyebrow.
Kara turned around and placed the bracelet around Santana's wrist.
"I thought you were just friends-"
"Working our way up to a friendship," Santana corrected. "And I don't know, I don't even know if things will work out, which is why I need to look good. If my night's going to end in tears, at least I'll know I look hot."
"You're so over your head," Kara smirked. "Hurry up so we can go, Bree and the others are waiting."_____
The music was blaring, and strong lights blinded you. People walked on top of each other and pushed one another out of the way.
Santana and Kara held hands so they wouldn't get separated. They pushed through the crowed until they got to the bar, where Quinn, Bree, and Puck all stood.
The group noticed their friends and partner. Kara and Bree embraced each other, while Santana and Puck shook hands. Santana looked over to Quinn, who seemed just as nervous.
"Hey," Santana greeted.
"Hey, San," Quinn said..
'San'. It'd been a long time since she'd heard that come from Quinn's mouth.
It was excruciatingly painful for the others to witness the awkward interaction, so they all took a few steps away.
"We're going to be over there," Puck announced.
Quinn and Santana nodded and watched the three walk away. Puck had lied about staying with the other two, though, and headed off to hit on some women.
"You look good," Quinn said, startling Santana.
"Oh, thank you!" Santana replied.
Quinn gestured for Santana to sit next to her, and so the girl did.
"Listen, I'm really sorry about the other day. I was definitely rude to you again," Quinn apologised.
Santana shrugged it off. "It's cool. To be honest I should have definitely gone a different route with getting in touch with you again."
Quinn smiled. "I'm glad you did when you did," she said. "How have we not gotten into touch ages ago though? I mean, our roommates are dating!"
Santana laughed a little too loudly for comfort. She quickly hid her face from the people who were close by.
"Possibly because neither of us wanted to message the other," she replied.
Quinn shamefully looked to her hands, then back up to Santana.
"I'm really sorry, it's just been awkward," she said. "After what I'd done, I didn't want to show my face to you again, because I was scared."
"We were in the same boat all along then," Santana answered. "Anyway, let's order some shots. I didn't come to a bar for nothing."
The two drank shot after shot, until their faces started to turn red.
Santana looked over her shoulder and to her surprise, Puck was living his dream with several women. She then looked further around the bar with her eyes and found Kara and Bree off to the side.
"How did Puck end up living with you? I thought he was living with Finn?" Santana wondered.
"Puck was kicked out when Rachel moved in," Quinn replied.
Santana pursed her lips then took a swig from her shot glass.
"I can see he still hooks up with loads of girls," Santana gestured to him.
Quinn laughed and shook her head. "You don't even want to know what it's like back at home."
A concerned and disgusted look fused together on Santana's face.
"Yikes," she said.
The music slowed down. It was still blaring, but came to a smooth pace for couples who were there to dance together.
Santana cheekily looked over to Quinn.
"Wanna dance?" she asked.
Quinn rolled her eyes. "Why?" she grinned.
"Like the good ol' times." Santana extended her arm out and grabbed Quinn. She pulled her friend onto the dance floor and spun her around carelessly.
Quinn laughed. Sure, they were drunk, but even this little time they had together was enough to make it seem like they'd never separated for several years.
By no means were they dancing how everyone else was, but they were having fun.
Kara and Bree were standing on the sidelines and gave each other a proud clap when they noticed Quinn and Santana.
"I think they'll be okay," Bree said.
Kara nodded and wrapped an arm around Bree's waist._____
The night had come to an end, and everyone was completely hammered. Puck more so than the others. Quinn and Santana hugged it out.
"I had a lot of fun. Let's do this again, alright?" Quinn said and moved away from the girl.
Santana smiled as she watched Quinn and Bree struggle to lift Puck up off the ground.
"Definitely. Don't be afraid to message me, okay?" Santana said.
Kara joined Santana.
"Same goes for you. Good night girls," Quinn said.
They each parted ways. The walk back to Santana's and Kara's was full of skips, giggles, and longggg conversations about their night.
Quinn and Bree on the other hand, were fighting for their lives to carry Puck back to their apartment.
He was heavy, and dragged his feet along the ground while he murmured some unintelligible words.
"Seems like you had a lot of fun tonight," Kara pointed out.
Santana giddily nodded. "I did. You look like you enjoyed yourself, too," she said.
Kara nudged Santana with her shoulder. "Of course. I got to spend the night with you dumbasses,"
"Fair."_____
"There," Quinn said. She and Bree placed Puck on the couch. They were both breathing heavily, and wheezed as they wiped the sweat off their foreheads.
Bree collapsed on the other couch. Keeping her eyes closed, she turned her head in Quinn's direction.
"So," Bree began. "Are you going to put any effort into building up the friendship with Santana again?"
"I think so. I'd like to start talking to her, and hanging out with her again. I'll definitely try to put more effort into it this time," Quinn replied.
Bree opened one eye and cocked a smile. "Good. Because I don't want to see you moping around anymore, and I don't think Kara wants to see Santana moping either."
