Peace

⊶───≺☯≻───⊷

January 1954

The war ended after three years of fighting. Since June 1953, a year of peace negotiations took place in which all parties consulted until they decided on a cease-fire and the official division of the two Koreas in Panmunjeom village, located on the 38th parallel line, where the war had previously started.

After both parties signed the decision, the partition was approved, the remains soldiers who were killed on the battlefield were exchanged, and the rest were returned to their homes while honoring all those who participated in the epic.

After months of adjusting the regime and drawing the parameters of stability, life began to return to normal for both people.

Here on the shore of the Yellow Sea in Nampo a North Korean city, two friends are sitting on a large rock, the wind chilling their souls and the breeze blowing on their faces...

"Ah comrade, the war is over, and we have become retired soldiers in our thirties," Namjoon said, resting his head on V’s shoulder.
"You look frustrated. Didn't you choose to retire by yourself? No one forced you, so why are you sad?" V replied grinning.

"I chose to retire for two reasons. First, I can't go on without you. We used to rely on each other. Second, I want to live a secure life. fall in love, get married, and start a family. I'm tired of living in the nets of fear and on the brink of death." Namjoon explained, and V nodded, "That's why I chose to retire early too, enough of what I've been through, from pain and loss, it's time for peace." He sighed deeply, then added, "What's your next move, Joonie? Any plans?"

"Actually, yes, I have a specific destination. I want to move to the capital. I will buy an apartment near the military hospital, then I will look for a job as a technician or something like that." He replied without looking at his friend, who smiled, saying, "When were you going to tell me that you are in a relationship with Doctor Seokjin, and you will take an apartment near his workplace, Mr. Lover?"

Namjoon smiled and bowed his head
"I was sure that you would find out by yourself, Taehyung, you are V. I remember nothing can be hidden from you, and you know that I am very shy to talk to you about such matters, in addition to that there was nothing official between us other than some flirtation when he was frequenting the camp and when they transported him to the capital, we had agreed to meet again to give a name to our relationship"
"I'm happy for you, Joonie. You deserve the best, mate." He pulled him attaching their foreheads, ruffling his blonde hair.

"Thank you Tae, and you too, it's your turn now tell me what's your next plan?" Namjoon asked looking at V.
"Honestly, nothing is clear yet. All I know is that I'm going to Italy in two days. I have to meet Christopher and then decide, but I'll pass by the cemetery first," he replied, running his fingers through his hair.

Namjoon laughed, "Look at fate, the day we were offered to learn languages at the Military College. I was admonishing you for choosing Italian, saying you will not need it in your life. English is better, but you stuck to your decision. Look now, your fate is related to Italy and its language."
V giggled, "I told you my instinct doesn't disappoint in the end, I'm V, right?"

Namjoon nodded, "You're right, look, I hate saying goodbye, but it looks like we're forced."
"Unfortunately, I will leave now, Joonie, but let's keep in touch. Well, when I get to the hotel, I will call the military hospital and leave the hotel number for your lover, the doctor, to hand it over to you, so you can call me, okay?"
"Of course, don't cut me off, old friend. I hope you get what you want from Italy."
They hugged tightly and then saluted each other, giggling.
"Bye, take care of yourself, Joon."
"Goodbye, Tae."
