CHAPTER 8 || t o o m u c h t a l k

POV: Nick

Me and my brothers had just gotten back from the pool. I was sitting on my bed waiting for Chris to get out of the shower so I can clean myself off. As I was scrolling through my phone, I got a text from Arlo.

When I got his text, my face lit up and I immediately started texting him back. The way this boy made me feel was indescribable. All I did was giggle and smile at his texts.

"What's so funny?" Matt said, obviously.

"Uhh, it's just a funny video." I replied.

"Oooo let me see!" Matt exclaims as he starts making his way toward me.

"Uh no it's fine ill just send it to you-"

Before I could make my words out, he had made his way over to me and took a peek at my phone.

"Wait- that's not... Arlo?!?! When did you get his number?" Matt said in confusion.

"Earlier today..." I answered back. I definitely did not want to have this conversation with Matt.

"OOoo you even have hearts by his name- you are for SURE in love" Giggled Matt.

"Alright, Alright, that's enough." I said trying to hold back my smile.

All Matt did was smile at me before he walked away.

-----TIME SKIP-----

I opened my eyes to see that the room was shaded over and that the clock read 6:13 am. My brothers were still asleep and snoring.

My hand lifted up to go and feel for my phone on the nightstand. Once I felt it, I picked it up and unlocked it.

I started texting a couple of my friends to see if they were still awake, but all of them were asleep. I was scrolling through my contacts to see who I should text, and I ended up spotting Arlo's name.

It wouldn't hurt if I just texted to see if he was awake, right?

I started typing and to my surprise, he started typing too. The bubble appeared and then disappeared, but I still saw it.

-----MESSAGES-----

N: Hey you awake?

A: Lol I was just about to say the same thing

N: great minds think alike

A: That is very true

N: of course it is. if it wasn't I wouldn't have said it

A: Okay whatever

Each text had me smiling and giggling. Everything he did make my heart flutter and move with butterflies.

It must be the young love they talk about.

But let me tell you, whatever it is, it's an amazing feeling. Nothing could overcome what I was feeling.

-----TIME SKIP-----

Arlo and I ended up texting each other until it was 8:00 o'clock. We said our goodbyes so we could get ready for breakfast.

I sat up and stretched before walking over to my brother's bed. I shook them awake and made my way over to the shower. As usual, I got ready for the day. (I'm not going to explain this part because you have read it a thousand times before)

Me, Matt, and Chris all made our way to breakfast. We were actually on time for once. Chris opens the door and makes his way over to the food bar. I spot Arlo and go straight up to him.

"Hey Arlo," I say as I made my way up to him with my plate.

"Oh shit you scared me" He replies with a little shake in his voice.

"Pffft, I scared you that bad?" I said as I start laughing.

The people around us were giving us weird looks, probably because Arlo just yelled.

"Yeah duh," Arlo says as he looks at me with a smile.

"Uhm anyways- I forgot to text you, but I was wondering if you wanted to hang out with me one of these days?" Arlo questions.

"Sure! That sounds awesome" I replied. My heart was fluttering way more than it usually should.

"Okay cool. Cya then?" He answered.

"Yup! I'll see you" I exclaimed as he smiled at me, then walked away.

I continued to fill my plate and when I was done, I went to the table me and my brothers were eating at.

I couldn't wait to hang out with Arlo.

Uhm hello. I just finished writing this chapter and you just finished reading it.

Yeah.... so, I kinda haven't updated in a while 😅I took a 2 week trip after school ended, so I wasnt able to update during that. Also, my mom and stepdad just split, so im in the middle of moving. I probably won't update for the next couple of days/week because I am going to some events.
