Y/n: "*sighs* Why is work the way it is?"

I look over to see my juniors all slumped over on their desk or laying back onto their chairs exhausted. I was done with a bulk of my work but was still not finished. Add to that the whatever work my juniors couldn't handle on their own and I was on the brink of insanity.

Y/n: "I think I'm going to be seeing numbers in my dreams and paperwork in my nightmares for the next week"

The door to Miss Miko opens as she leans on it to balance herself upwards. She was visibly exhausted from her own paperwork as the rest of the team looked over to her.

Chitanda: "Break time.."

A loud mixture of groans and half celebrations were heard throughout the room as nobody could find the strength to cheer.

Chitanda: "Mr. L/n.."

Everyone had gotten up and head over to the break room before gearing up for a second half of pain.

I got up and went straight towards Miss Miko while finding the energy to not pass our.

Y/n: "Still have work to do?"

I look over and see a mountain of booklets left unfinished.

Y/n: "I take it back. No need to mention"

Chitanda: "Despite how it looks, I am still going to finish it all by the end of the shift. The CEO's assistant, Miss Hinata, has dropped us something while we were focused on our work"

Y/n: "Please let it be energy drinks!!! I just ran out"

Miss Miko handed me one as she brought out a little cart with some Italian food.

Y/n: "Oh my lord.. It's Christmas and the location is Rome"

Chitanda: "*sob* It looks beautiful"

We go inside and begin gobbling up the meals as we share stories and converse with one another.

Y/n: "So, I have a feeling we will get a hefty bonus check for that man's mistake"

Chitanda: "I'll say. We deserve it after our incompetent CEO continues to avoid let us, the supervisors, in on the business meetings. It's always just him, Miss Hinata and his wife in those discussions"

Y/n: "*sighs* Here's to hoping that he will learn from this and bring experienced individuals with him like yourself"

Chitanda: "He won't but I can only pray"

We toast together as I notice we still had about 15 minutes left of break time.

Y/n: "I'm been thinking about stuff lately"

Chitanda: "What about if you don't mind me prying in?"

I turn to her as I feel that she is a trust worthy friend of mine.

Y/n: "Well, it's just that.. I feel like my wife and daughter are hiding something from me. No, it's better to say that I know they are"

Chitanda: "Really? What makes you think that?"

Y/n: "I walked into them talking in secrecy. Add to it that I saw my daughter talking to someone, yet I couldn't see them at all"

Miss Miko seemed concerned about it and leaned into her chair while moving it forward more.

Chitanda: "Do you have any idea on it could possibly be?"

Y/n: "At first, I just thought that my daughter simply had a boyfriend she was too unsure how to present to me.. but then I started thinking more and just couldn't wrap my head around what it might be"
