Chapter 6: A Prayer

*Alarm*

I could hear the sound of the alarm ringing as I'm suddenly getting pulled out of the wonderful dream I was having.

Ariel: "Honey, the alarm"

She sounded sleepy as I pulled together all my strength to hit the snooze button.

Y/n: "*sighs* Adulting is so exhausting"

Ariel: "I'll make breakfast"

She said that but she was still in bed, half asleep.

Y/n: "*yawn* I'll go get Yoshiko"

Ariel: "Alright"

She barely began to get up as I walked through the house until I reached the backyard.

I opened the door and saw Yoshiko training with a sword her mother leant her.

Y/n: "How are you doing?"

She paused and turned to me as I tossed a towel she had brought out.

Yoshiko: "Pretty good. My names gone out into the supernatural world and I'm ready to work"

Azrael: "In terms of skill, she is top notch. A true prodigy along the lines of many I witnessed when I was alive"

Yoshiko: "Did you ever watch over my mother?"

Azrael: "I'm afraid not. However, given she was under Uriel, I wouldn't put it past her if she herself was one too"

Y/n: "These Seraph sound like very important people"

I take a seat on the steps of our porch while Yoshiko takes the seat beside me.

Azrael: "They are. Michael, Uriel, Raphael, Gabriel. They are the strongest among Heaven under God. They are truly important people"

Y/n: "What about you Mr. Azrael?"

Azrael: "As I said before, I am the Angel of Death who fell to hell. My name no longer strikes fear as it did in the past for I'm sure I'm long forgotten besides my brothers and sisters that were with me until my end"

Yoshiko: "I'll do everything I can to bring back your legacy Lord Azrael!! I'll work hard, I promise"

I was troubled by her promise as I was still unaware of what type of work she would be doing.

Azrael: "You have my thanks little one. I'll be sure to entrust my powers to you. Remember that our first job is today"

Yoshiko: "I won't let you down!! After all, this job was specifically chosen for me"

She proudly said while oozing an aura of smugness.

Y/n: "Keep her safe in my stead when you do. She is still my little girl and I'd hate if she got injured"

Azrael: "Worry not, I'll do my best"

I get up and extend a hand to her.

Y/n: "Wanna go eat?"

Yoshiko: "Yep"

She takes it as the two of us race to the kitchen where Ariel is cooking up some grub.

Y/n: "Smells nice"

Yoshiko: "Mmm!! I can't wait!!"

Ariel: "I'll be done shortly. You two take a seat and bring out the drinks"

Y/n/Yoshiko: "'Kay"

I go for the beverages while Yoshiko pulls ou the chairs for us.

Y/n: "Alright kiddo. Now we do the most important part"
