Chapter 7: The Worst Day

I could barely stand and quickly knew that the cloaked figured was bad news. I prayed for a miracle in my head through these difficult moments.

Thanatos: "The child"

Ariel: "I am not surrendering her!!"

He tilted his head as Yoshiko held onto my chest to set me down.

Yoshiko: "What do we do?"

Ariel: "We fight.. no matter what, we fight"

Thanatos: "My Lord said her corpse was a needed vessel. I will bring it back without fail"

Ariel: "Over my dead body"

She could only muster up 6 wings as my wife pushed Yoshiko towards me.

Ariel: "Yoshiko, listen to me honey. I'll let you know when"

Yoshiko: "Mom?.."

Ariel: "Take your father with you.."

Azrael: "Young one, you are in no condition to fight that monster!! Dammit!! If only my relics could of been here. The blessings this child would of received would of been enough to match Thanatos"

Ariel: "But her skill isn't there yet. She hasn't grown into that body.. Lord Azrael, take care of my family"

Thanatos: "You speak as someone who is going to sacrifice yourself for their escape? None will leave-"

*gun shot*

He is stopped as he cuts down the incoming attack.

Y/n: "No. Go without me too"

I could barely see but figures but my heart could tell me who were each person.

Ariel: "Honey, save your breath!!"

Y/n: "I'll only slow her down.. besides.."

I look at my wound and could tell just how rough of a state I was in.

Y/n: "I don't know if I'll make it longer"

Yoshiko: "Father!! Please hold on"

The intruders began to surround us as the hooded man took steps towards Ariel.

Ariel: "Yoshiko, run!!"

Yoshiko: "I don't want to!!"

Y/n: "You have to. *huff* You're who they are after"

She pulls out her sword out as I tried to pull the gun up to shoot.

Thanatos: "No one leaves"

He charged forward as Ariel took him head on. Yoshiko gave back up while giving it her all to protect me. I shot when I found a spot. Despite eliminating those individuals, more began to come out.

Y/n: "Their numbers aren't dropping"

I could barely hold onto the gun and my ammunition was running low.

Y/n: "Ariel, take Yoshiko with you"

I use the shotgun to pull myself up as I look around.

Ariel: "Isn't happening"

I take a shot at the cloaked man as he cuts them down with his scythe.

Thanatos: "You are quite annoying"

He shoves Ariel back as the two clash again.

Yoshiko: "Father!!"

I turn around to see a man get cut down by my daughter who comes to my aid.

Y/n: "Yoshiko"

Yoshiko: "Let me-"

She's cut off as the man's scythe was pushed through her chest.
