Vrishti was discharged three days later with an advice of total bed rest. Ashish volunteered to keep her at his place as there were servants to look after her every need. Ashish's bungalow, Samarpan, 7/ 32, Vasant Kunj was dream house for everyone. I did the interiors when it was bought. Vrishti was shifted to be taken better care of. Ashish had contacted best neurologists of the world to treat her. With every passing day she had one or two flashbacks and a tremendous headache which was to be tackled by injections to make her sleep.

Vrishti was struggling with her memory which was blinking like a going to fuse tube light, but Ashish; I saw him struggling with himself to not to bother Vrishti because his face brought her memories back. "Why don't you try telling her?" I asked him. "No I will not go in front of her because she gets worsened. I don't know when she will recognize me. I just miss her." He spoke and tears rolled his cheeks. His words, 'I miss her' echoed my ears. I was feeling bad for my childhood friend. I missed his silent looks pleading to stop teasing. I missed his one sided grins on my pointless drama.

It had been three days since Vrishti was home. She was quite better but still partially confused about those two years. I told her two years have slipped of her mind and her memories will be back. Ashu scolded me for telling her but my frown calmed him down. It always worked. Knowing the truth, Vrishti was a bit easier about everything. After a month, Vrishti resumed her job. Everything looked to be on right track. Everything was easy going and so very normal.

Ashish thanked me for making things simple. I asked him what his next plan was. He gave a left sided grin. His left sided grin was an indication of a conspiracy. I was excited about his move. So, Mr. Raichand was actually planning Vrishti's birthday surprise. Every arrangement was done the same way they did for me. Things were quite clear to me now. He wanted her to remind that day. So, instead of her favorite cake, my favorite cake was ordered.

Black forest cake and candles numbering two and three were brought. Same venue, same décor; everything was set. I called Vrishti to the venue with an excuse of some important work. She hustled to the venue and our heartbeats were increasing with every passing moment; we were anxious to know the results of Ashu's experiment with Vrishti's memory.

Divyashree aunty was calling me constantly. I knew what she wanted to ask about but I was sure that the way I was thinking, things will go that way. I answered her call and asked if I could speak to her later. I wanted to avoid her questions. I knew it somewhere that she would ask if Vrishti and Ashu were dating. She wanted to know the reason of his son's changed behavior. She was anxious too.

Everyone was struggling differently; Ashu with his idea's future, Vrishti with her memory, Divyashree aunty with her son's life and I was struggling with all this along with my career. Meanwhile we were trying best to bring our Vrishti's memories back, my career had a flip. I joined 'Avaahan' the largest investor team of Divyashree events. And midst of everything, we were planning Vrishti's birthday party.

When she reached the venue, she was amazed. As expected she found things similar to the visions she got. I kept emergency medicines ready keeping a safe hand. She went through flash backs and fainted all of sudden. We called doctors and when she woke up we were ready with one more bomb to explode. The cake, which was the last thing she saw before accident was in front of her. Looking at the cake she screamed, "Vaishnavi, happy birthday. The truck hit me hard...I shall die. Sorry sisso."

She was back. Idea had worked. But that was not the happily ever after. Story was left. I calmed her down and reminded that it was her birthday. We cut the cake and celebrated. That day, Ashu's smile was something different; the smile of accomplishment of goal.
