It was Ashish. He read it. He apologized. He knows I still care. In a second my throat dries and I was choking. My heart skipped a beat and the world spun around me in a jiffy. "Miss Thakur!" I hear a voice that brings back my senses. "Amm... ah! Yeah! Yes!" It is Mr. Singh. "Yes... Yes sir."I say.

"Shall we proceed for the dinner?" he asked. "Yes sir." I replied with modesty. There is a platter in front of me and I am indeed hungry. There lays a plate full of dal makhani, malai chap and butter naan. Too full for my diet but I can cheat a meal. It is mouth watering enough to see my favorite food in front of me. I grab a bite and phone rings.

CALLER: "So cunning step Vaishnavi. You took our partner. You snatched our business partner."

VAISHNAVI: "Who is calling?"

CALLER: "You bitch! Are you desolated to destroy us? But you cannot. I have done a lot to be this. I have done a lot to brainwash Ashish, to become Mrs. Raichand."

VAISHNAVI: "Megha! What do you want?"

MEGHA: "Partnership with Avaahan."

VAISHNAVI: "Keep on begging. You won't get it back. It is all my hard work and talent. Bloody gold digger!"

MEGHA: "I will teach you a good lesson again."

VAISHNAVI: "You can't harm me anymore. I am now a businesswoman. And I shall be the best this year. You keep on begging for your lost partnership."

As soon as the call got disconnected I got another phone call. It was Ashish, the mystery caller who called me yesterday. I answer the call with an inquisitive mind that why is he calling me. Isn't he okay with my success?

VAISHNAVI: "What is your problem Ashish? Why are you apologizing? Aren't you okay with my happiness that you are again disturbing me? On one hand your wife threatens me of destroying me and then you apologize. What have you both thought like? Stay happy with your gold digger wife. Don't irritate me."

ASHISH: I am sorry. I was wrong in judging Megha. I am sorry for I did. I don't tend to disturb you in your life. I am glad about your success. I don't know what to say but I read both your poems. It was good. Keep it up.

VAISHNAVI: Whatever!

ASHISH: I know you want to cry badly.

VAISHNAVI: Talk to you later.

I disconnected the call and broke into tears. I leave the banquet and drive to home.
