It was nine am when I opened my front door with a small smile on my face.

"Hey, looks like you're stuck with me again." Buck said, with a big bag on  his shoulder. "Sorry."

"It's okay. I did offer that you could stay with me, but you insisted on staying with Chimney." I claimed as I walked away from the door, Buck following me. "I set up the guest bedroom a few days ago."

"You saw this coming?" Buck asked and I chuckled.

"You didn't?"

"How did it go? Was she happy?" I asked my brother from my seat on the couch. Him and Chimney went and bought Maddie a Christmas tree. I literally got home like five minutes ago, so I couldn't go.

"She freaked out, and started yelling about how she didn't want to celebrate Christmas." Buck huffed and went to the fridge for a beer before returning and sitting down next to me. "It's all Doug's fault."

"Listen, she was in an awful situation. Probably whatever she did was never good enough and it resulted in the physical abuse. We have no idea what truly went down, or what things might set her off. There is a big chance she has PTSD because of that marriage. All we can do is talk to her and respect her boundries. Hopefully, she'll get professional help." I stated.

"Yeah, you're right." Buck sighed. "You know, it's weird."

"What is?"

"I haven't seen either of you in years. Maddie was still roughly the same as when I last saw her. She also let us in her life. She trusted us enough." Buck exclaimed. What is he trying to say?

"What are you getting at, Buck?" I questioned.

He glanced at me, "You've changed. You're still our Beth, but you're not the same, y'know. You haven't said a word about what had happened to you. We literally know nothing about your life. And it feels like you don't trust us enough to let us in."

I took a deep breath, "It's not that I don't trust you guys. Cause I do. It's just some things are better left in the past. Because they're too painful." I claimed. I shook my head and stood up, "I'm gonna go to sleep, it's been a long night."

Emily and Elle asked to go out for drinks after our shift. Harrison went on a date and Campbell went home to his wife and two kids. They're both adorable, he showed us a picture of his son's birthday.

Now that I know him more, I can really say that he's a great boss, and an amazing father.

He does care about the team, and he looks out for us.
