Chapter [36]

Author's pov; 

"Appa, appa." Leo came running to his father who was chopping some wood alongside Jungwon. 

"Yes, pup?" Jungkook said, stopping his work, as he put his axe on the ground. Jungwon followed after, smiling at the young omega. 

"Appa, is it true that soulmates are real?" There was a spark in Leo's eyes when he asked that. Jungkook stilled, and so did Jungwon because they remembered the tragic incident of the past that happened to the last pair of soulmates. 

"H-How did you get to know about it, pup?" Jungkook crouched to his level. "I heard it while I was passing by a higher classroom. The teacher was explaining to them about it." Leo told him, "Appa, tell me, is it true?" He was excited, smiling wide to know the answer. 

Jungkook looks at Jungwon, perplexed. The mystic wolf nodded at him with a small smile. Jungkook bit his lips, looking back at the pup, "Yes. It's true." 

Leo gasped, jaw falling. "So appa and Mama are soulmates too?" 

Jungkook sighed, grasping his elbows, "No, pup. Mama and I aren't soulmates. Soulmates are those whose souls have been tied to be with each other by the Moon Goddess." 

There's a frown on the omega's face, "So…. Moon goddess can give me a soulmate too?" 

Jungkook tensed up. He tried to smile, dodging the question, "Didn't you tell me that you have lots of homework to do?" 

Leo gasped, eyes wide in horror. "Oh no! The teacher said if we don't submit our homework on time she will punish us. Appa bye." He hurriedly said and looked at Jungwon, "B-Bye dada." 

Jungwon waved his hand with a wide smile. And they watched the pup running back to the house. 

"The decision I made that day…." Jungkook paused, standing up, "Was it right, Appa?" He looked at his father worriedly.

Jungwon smiled softly. "You did right, pup. You saved Bogum from suffering and saved Leo from tangling up in soulmate stuff at such a young age." Jungwon looked at their side and saw a man standing beside a tree but hid behind it when he was caught. He chuckled. 

Jungkook turned his gaze to that man. It was Bogum who came to watch his mate. Jungkook had sensed Bogum's presence the moment he stepped into his land unannounced. He sighed, gaze falling on his feet. 

There was this ugly feeling, the fear of the same fate happening to his precious son. 

"Whatever it is. Whether they are soulmates or not, I just want my pup to be happy, Appa." 

Jungwon patted his back, "Bogum seems like a good alpha, pup. He never crossed his limit and is keeping his distance from Leo too. I think we can trust him." 

"He is just 15. I can't seem to bring myself to believe that my pup is that alpha's soulmate. How can he tell this, be so sure of it?" Jungkook looked at his father, desperately wanting this whole soulmate thing to be just inaccurate. 

The mystic wolf brought a hand over his head, gently caressing, "Leave it to time. As time will pass we will know the truth. Leo will be able to feel the bond once he turns 18. Okay, don't stress too much, pup. Do you want to have grey hair at such a young age huh?" 

Jungkook snorted out a small chuckle, "Appa…" 

But Jungwon just flashed him a grin. Jungkook smiled, glancing at Bogum who had already begun to walk away. "This feels so illegal to me." He whispered.

"Hi, appa." 

"Have you finished your 10 laps I told you to do?" Jungkook asked, peering off from the book he had been reading to Leo who was standing a little away from him.
