Chapter Text
Midoriya had no idea what to expect when they got onto the highway, moving further and further away from UA. Sure, the man is probably made of money at this point, now that Midoriya knows who he is, but... where does he live? Is it a luxurious mansion? A penthouse on the 26th story? The car is comfortably quiet, though Midoriya isn't sure how much longer he can let it stay that way.
"So, what kind of food do you like?"
Obviously not much longer at all.
"Um, I'm a pretty simple guy. Cold soba is my favorite though." Todoroki shrugs his shoulders, eyes focused on the road ahead of them.
Midoriya nods. "Okay! Do you have the ingredients for that at your place?"
"You mean just the noodles?" Todoroki snorts.
"W-Well, yeah." Midoriya curls in a bit on himself. "And other things? I can make a broth to go with it? Or a sauce?" His fingers curl into fists, trying to keep his nerves at bay.
Todoroki hums. "Yeah, I think I have some stock in the cabinets."
Midoriya smiles at the man in the driver's seat. "Great!"
The conversation ends there. So Midoriya looks back out the window, eyebrows raising as they enter a small development where a lot of the same looking houses line the blocks.
"We're here." Todoroki announces as he pulls into a driveway of a light blue and white ranch. There's a garden in the front on either side of the three steps leading to the front door. He'd been expecting some sort of extravagant place, but... this makes sense too.
Midoriya doesn't realize he's staring until his door opens from the outside and he finds Todoroki standing there, briefcase in one hand and the other holding the door wide so Midoriya could exit. Scrambling to take off his belt, Midoriya grabs his backpack and steps out of the car.
"Thank you." He mumbles with a light blush on his cheeks and a bow. Todoroki smiles and closes the passenger door behind them.
Without another word, Todoroki leads the way, going straight to the front door and unlocking it.
"It's a little bit of a mess, so I apologize now." A flush rushs down his neck at his admission, eyes pointedly avoiding Midoriya's.
"Trust me, you should see my bedroom at home." Todoroki laughs softly and opens the door for them both.
Once he gets through the threshold, Todoroki sets his briefcase on the floor, then removes his jacket while throwing his keys into a bowl that sits on a table by the front door. He hangs his jacket in the closet, then toes off his dress shoes, shoving them to the side before turning to Midoriya, who's just watching the man before him.
Todoroki coughs into his hand. "Uh, you can just leave your shoes by the door. There's an extra hanger in the closet for your coat." He rubs his neck and moves further into the house through an entrance to what seems to be the kitchen.
While he takes off his coat and shoes, Midoriya takes in the space. There's a large window that shows the outside of the front of the house. In front of the window in a television that sits on a low entertainment center. Directly across from the tv is a couch and recliner. At the furthest wall is a desk with a computer and stacks on stacks of various papers, folders and other miscellaneous stuff.
His walls are bare except for two photos in frames. From where he's standing, Midoriya can't tell who's in them, not that he'd know them anyway. On the floor, he notices two pairs of sweatpants by the tv, a pile of two plates and two cups beside the couch and a hoodie that must have been thrown haphazardly onto the couch.
