Chapter Text
Sugar Daddy. Sugar Daddy. Sugar Daddy. The phrase turned over and over again in Todoroki's mind as he drove back to his home. He's sure he's heard the term before, but, why would that redheaded student call him it.

The first thing Todoroki does when he walks through the door is go straight to his computer and bring up the search engine.

what is a sugar daddy

One of the first sites to come up is Urban Dictionary and even though Todoroki knows it's probably not the most reliable site, he still clicks it. Immediately, he feels his face flare up.

A Sugar Daddy is a boyfriend who comes with financial benefits. Sugar benefactors can help to cover tuition, bills, and frequently enjoy bestowing gifts upon their partners.

At first, Todoroki thinks he's in the clear because he is not Midoriya's boyfriend (as much as he wishes to be). But then a couple words stick out to him.

help to cover tuition, bills

Todoroki instantly understands why that student would call him such a thing. Maybe he is a sugar daddy.

He spends the next two hours researching and coming to terms with the fact that he doesn't actually mind being considered Midoriya's sugar daddy. He wants to continue to support Midoriya and pay for anything he may need. He also recognizes how unbelievably happy he gets when Midoriya buys himself things with the money Todoroki provided.

Like his art supplies. Todoroki had felt a surge of warmth and pride run through him when he saw how passionate Midoriya was with his hobby.

Todoroki also feels gratification when he sees Midoriya working hard for his grades and he knows his offer hasn't gone to waste. He's just so proud.

But the thing is, he only wants to be a sugar daddy to Midoriya. He can't see himself helping anyone else.

Midoriya has stuck out to him in the best way since the beginning. He sees something truly special in the teen and wants nothing more than to bring that sunshine smile to his face. And since the male has been around more, Todoroki genuinely just enjoys his presence. Even if they don't talk, just being in the same room fills Todoroki with a contentment that he can live with forever.

It's when Todoroki's stomach growls that he realizes he hasn't eaten since breakfast with Midoriya and has spent a large amount of time on the computer.

At first, this all started with what is a sugar daddy, but then it turned to how to be the best sugar daddy. He's going to need to have a talk with Midoriya, but that can wait, for now, he needs to eat and get some work done.

It's not until Monday morning when Midoriya pointedly avoids Todoroki's eyes all throughout class that the professor remembers Midoriya's face when he left him on Friday.

He internally curses himself for being careless and not recognizing how Midoriya may be feeling. Knowing the student for longer than two months, he can tell when Midoriya is anxious and nervous to speak his mind.

Todoroki sets these thoughts to the side until class is over when he asks Midoriya to approach his desk.

He can feel Bakugou glare at him as he walks out of the room, but that's nothing new, so Todoroki ignores it and watches Midoriya pack his things slowly and with shaking fingers while the rest of the students leave and it's just the two of them left.

Midoriya keeps his head low, staring at the ground as he reaches Todoroki who sits behind his desk, hands clasped on the table.

"Izuku?" He dips his head, trying to catch the other's eye. Midoriya sniffs and looks up, arms wrapped around his middle and Todoroki's heart breaks. "What's wrong?"
