Chapter Fifteen.
"Thank you for taking the time out to listen to me, Kitana. I really appreciate you." Justice spoke as she walked him downstairs. "You promise you don't hate me?" He asked, uncertainty in his voice.
"No, I don't. I could never. One thing you'll learn about me is that I don't judge, because I don't have the room to. Everyone has a past, and that's okay. I didn't know twenty year old Justice, but I know the Justice that you are right now. That's all that matters as far as I'm concerned." Kitana stated.
"I can tell that you sincerely regret your actions, and you're trying to get on a better path. That in itself speaks volume." She said once they made their way down the steps and stopped in front of the front door.
"I wish everybody was understanding like you." Justice mumbled, looking off to the side.
Kitana then softly grabbed his face with both of her hands, making him look at her. "Please don't let the opinion of others stop you from shining, okay?"
He nodded, before pulling her closer by her waist. Justice then bent down to hug her as she wrapped her arms around his tattooed neck.
They hugged one another for a few seconds, enjoying the embrace before releasing.
Justice looked down at the shorter woman, licking over his lips. "I'm taking you out this weekend." He said, getting straight to the point.
Kitana was taken aback, raising a brow. Her surprised expression was then replaced with a small grin. "And where might you be taking me, Mr.Bennett?" She inquired, placing her hands on her hips as she tapped her foot like a cartoon character.
Justice then laughed at her stance. "You'll see when I come pick you up at 7:30 that night." He replied, a small smirk on his face.
Justice had been wanting to take Kitana on a date for a while now, but he had to wait until he got his first paycheck, which would be this Friday.
He didn't know exactly where he'd be taking her or what they'd be doing, but he would think of something over the course of the next two days. She deserved it.
"That's aight wit' you?" He inquired, trying to get clarification.
"Yes." She nodded.
"Good, cause you don't have a choice." He replied, causing her mouth to drop open slightly.
"Um sir, that sounds a little like kidnapping." She joked, causing him to chuckle.
"Shit, maybe it is." He shrugged. "Nah, I'm playing but I'll send you the details when we get closer to that time."
"Okay, sounds good." She kept her gaze on him.
"Bet." Justice said, before pulling out his phone and looking at the time. It was nearing eleven.
"Damn, I guess I better take my ass home." He mumbled with a sigh, undoing the locks on her front door. The drive from her house to his mother's home was a good 25 minutes, which he didn't feel like doing at all.
"Thank you for coming over. I enjoyed your company and I'm super grateful for the stuff you got me from CVS." Kitana spoke.
"It was no problem, Tana. I hope you have a good day at work tomorrow, mama."
"Thank you, I hope you do too. Drive safe, okay?"
"Thank you, and I will. I'll text you once I get home, aight?" Justice pulled out his car keys.
"Please do, because you said that the last time and you didn't." She pointed her finger at him, before sucking her teeth.
"I promise, I will." He smiled. "Goodnight."
