XVI.

Chapter Sixteen.

Kitana entered the beauty supply, saying hello to the middle aged Chinese woman behind the glass counter. She then headed straight to the aisle with the gels, pomades, and edge controls. Scanning her eyes over the array of different products available, she finally spotted the Jamaican Mango & Lime locking gel she would typically use on her cousins.

Grabbing it from the shelf, she placed it into the red handheld basket that was on her wrist. From there, she moved to the next aisle and got some hair oil to oil Justice's scalp with.

"Oh yeah, I need this too." She mumbled, squatting down to get some Lotta Body setting foam that was on the shelf below the hair oils.

Last but not least, she went and grabbed a rat tail comb and some silver duck bill clips. She threw the items into her basket, before heading to the front to check out.

Luckily, there was nobody in line. Kitana placed her basket on the counter, shooting the cashier a quick yet polite smile. "Hi there." She spoke.

"Hello ma'am! This is all for you today?" The woman replied, beginning to ring up everything and placing the items into a bag.

"Yes." Kitana replied, watching her total increase on the screen.

"Okay, it'll be $19.22."

Going into her purse, Kitana pulled out her wallet and grabbed her debit card. She swiped it, before typing in her PIN number. Once the transaction was completed, the cashier printed out her receipt and tore it off of the machine before handing it to Kitana.

"Thank you for shopping with us, come back soon!"

"Sure thing, and I will. Have a good one."

Kitana grabbed the pink and white striped bag and headed towards the double doors. She pushed the 'exit' side open, walking outside. Going to her car, she unlocked the drivers side door and got in.

Kitana placed her bag on the passenger seat along with her purse, before shutting her door and strapping herself in. She then cranked up the car, bringing it to life.

She had to drive further out to come to this specific beauty supply store since they had better prices than the one by her house. Kitana typed in her home address into Apple Maps, before starting the route. She put her car in reverse, before backing out of the parking spot that she was in.

Once she backed out, she put the car in drive and exited the parking lot to head home.

Arriving at her house, Kitana parked her car in the driveway as usual before getting out. She made her way to the front door, pulling out her house key. Sticking it into the lock, she unlocked it and entered the home.

A 'whew' escaped her lips as she was happy to be home. Going upstairs, she went to her room and sat her things down on the edge of the bed. It was already 5:45, and Justice would be there at 6:30.

Kitana took off her heels, before heading into the bathroom. She closed the door behind her, then began stripping out of her clothes to prepare to take a shower.

She placed her shower cap on her head, before turning the water on. While it heated up to her liking, she placed her dirty clothes in the hamper.

Once the water was hot enough, Kitana got in. She began to wash her body, feeling the stresses of today melt away.

Kitana's day wasn't the best. Her class wouldn't stay on task, kept talking over her, wouldn't sit down, etc. Due to her being on her period, she was more irritable and short tempered so everything that they did was frustrating the hell out of her.
