Kaveh POV

Im home, with moonlight on the river, saying my goodbyes..

Humming to the music I seem to calm down, music is so relaxing it helps me drown my thoughts and those around me. It's basically like free therapy.

Of course though I'm interrupted with a delicate tap on my shoulder, I take out an earbud and turn around to see a girl with nice red hair and the softest of skin smiling at me with the prettiest of lips, oh to look like her.

"Hi! You're Kaveh, right?"

She asks while still holding a small but pretty smile on her face, before you ask no, I am gay, I'm not attracted to women, but I just can't help but get jealous

"I- um yes I am, may I help you with anything?"

"Oh great! we have the same art class together and I heard you were just amazing at art! Do you mind helping me a bit on my project?" She asks with so much joy on her face

"Oh I wouldn't say I'm the best at art.. but I could still help you with whatever you need" I reply trying to give a good smile back to her

"What do you mean you're not the best!? I've seen your works and they are absolutely stunning, especially that painting you did of the moon I couldn't take my eyes off of it!" she says with shock and reassurance in her tone

The moon painting. I of course made it when I was thinking of him.. I don't know why I did but he just reminded me so much of it and our project was to paint something we adore.. but this was of course back when I had hope so..

"Oh thank you, um what do you need help on?" I asked, trying desperately to quickly change the subject

"Oh! I'm so sorry I almost forgot! Remember how we were tasked on creating a sculpture?"

"Yes of course, are you having troubles?"

"Yess! I just can't seem to think of what to make, the teacher told us to make whatever we please but there's just too much that comes to mind!" She exclaims pushing her hands against her cheeks which made her seem so effortlessly cute.., again. gay. so.

"Well, whenever I tend to try to pick a subject I try to pick something that I adore, or what is on my mind.. or whatever reminds me of someone I adore.. or is on my mind.." I say, quietly trailing off at that last bit

And of course, she gasped with what it seemed like stars in her eyes

"Oh my goodness Kaveh!! You like someone!!" She seemed to get off topic, again

"Ahh, it's not exactly like that.. it's kind of died down if you may put it like that, this person would never go for me." I say, chuckling nervously

"Aww, but Kaveh why wouldn't they? You seem to have a great personality plus you do have very nice looks!" She says seeming to try and comfort me.

"It's fine I don't really wanna talk abo-"

"What's going on here."

That cold voice. again.

I turn around with Alhaitham seeming to glare in my direction, crossing his arms and leaning against the table next to us.

"Oh hi alhaitham! Kaveh was just helping me with my art project!" she says with that cute smile again, Alhaitham probably found it adorable

"Kaveh, you were supposed to be at the dorm 45 minutes ago, why are you still here."

He seemed to have ignored her..? Only focusing on me which seemed kind of strange.. Obviously though he was probably just trying to get his food

"Oh uh, as Nilou said, I was helping her with her art project"

"Hurry up, I need you back at the dorm"

"It's ok Kaveh! Your roommate seems like he needs you so we can do this later!" She says signaling me to go

"Okay, I'll see you later then Nilou!!" I say smiling at her while walking away with Alhaitham.

"What's going on between you and her." He says in his usual cold voice still staring ahead as we walk towards the dorm.

"Uh nothing? I don't know if you heard her since you were so focused on starting something up with me that we had an art project to work on, why would you think anything like that" I ask, I was genuinely so confused with his behavior

"Why are you into her or something" I add as I roll my eyes

"No."

He said that too quickly. Way too quickly. What is going on with him.

I shrug off the feeling of small hope in my body as I start to yawn, archons I was so tired

"You should take a nap once you get back, I'll take care of dinner."

He says, and I swear I caught him taking a quick glimpse at me.

"I thought during lunch you told me to cook?"

God today is so weird what kinda tricks are the archons trying to play on me

"Forget about it, sleep."

He says as he unlocks our dorm opening the door for the both of us.

"Why did you want me at the dorm then if you don't need me to cook?"

He's being so odd today

"Stop with all your questions, go sleep."

I shrug as I plop down on the couch not even bothering to grab a blanket as I drift off into sleep

Why is today so weird?
