Getting to Know a God

hey guys, sorry this chapter took so long, I have been really busy this week because it was the last week of term but I'm finally on holidays for 2 weeks! So I will write as many chapters as I can and post them gradually! Thanks,

"I am a God you dull creature, and I will not be bullied by-" Loki is cut off by Astral shooting a plasma blast that hits his shoulder and sends him flying towards you making you duck. Loki just missing your head that he tried to grab on his way over. You sigh in relief. Shit you think and whistle for Astral while running towards the edge of the landing strip. You jump off and dive for the God currently falling too fast for you. You don't really know why you just jumped off a building to save the man who singlehandedly tried to take over New York, but it was a little late for second guessing your decisions now. Astral arrives at your side and you grab your saddle and pull yourself onto her back while still diving after the God, catching up to him now that you were on Astral. She already knows why you jumped so she grabs the God in one arm and takes his sceptor with the other. You reach down and grab the sceptor from her, keeping it away from Loki so he can't use it and give Astral a scratch behind the ear.

"YES! Good Girl Astral! Let's get back up there girl" Astral flies back up as best she can but the God she is carrying isn't making it easy for her as he tried to pull himself from her hold. Once she reaches the landing strip she drops him and I get off her to pin him to the ground with a dagger to the throat. Thor and Tony land near us and Thor smiles at me impressed while Tony just looks relieved that I am alive.

"I can take him Lady Y/N. He will need these." Thor says as he holds us some metal cuffs for Loki to wear and you take your dagger off his throat as Thor grabs his collar to pull him off the ground. You look up to the sky sighing and shutting your eyes to draw in a deep breath of relief. You open your eyes to see the blue beam is no longer there and the creatures aren't coming out of the portal. Your gaze moves to the top of the tower where you see Natasha and she smile widely as she see you, jumping down from the platform she ran up to you.

"Y/N! You're back!" she squeezes you in the hug then moves her head so her mouth is at your ear. "Good job on taking down a God" she whispers in your ear making you smile and you hug her tighter.

"I missed you Nat! I didn't have anyone to complain about everything to." Astral gives you a low growl and rolls her big purple eyes at you making you all laugh, well all but the God of Mischief who's eyes keep darting from you to the dragon standing near you and back to you. He has a look of disbelief on his face. Nat grabs your arm suddenly breaking your watch on the God and she moves your sleeve up slightly to reveal the leftover frostbite you have. Your arm still looks horrible despite you healing it on the way back to New York. It is red and dark purple with some white, the black starting to fade away at least. She looks at you horrified.

"Laufey." you say with a shrug as if she is supposed to know who that is. Thor and Loki look at you at the same time with the same confused look on their faces.

"You were at Jotunheim? Lady Y/N we talked about this, the Frost Giants are dangerous, you can't go there." Thor tells you in a low concerned voice. Your eyes meet Loki's after you rolled them at Thor's comment. You keep your eyes on him for a few seconds. You see a small sliver of pain in his eyes, but you aren't sure what from. Breaking the gaze, you look back at Thor.

"The Frost Giants were helping me after I reminded Laufey of our agreement. If it weren't for them, 15 Deadly Nadders would be in cages half freezing to death still. He helped me free them Thor. He wasn't trying to start a fight, just give me a little reminder that I shouldn't be there." you say shrugging and pulling your sleeve back over your wrist. Thor shakes his head at you giving up on telling you off and takes his brother inside the tower, sitting him down on the sofa. Tony puts a hand on your shoulder making you turn to him. He tries to pull a small smile on his face, but you can see he is struggling so you just wrap you dad up in a hug and relax your shoulders as he wraps his arms around you as well. It felt good to be back and to have your dad hug you after a month of not seeing him.

"I'm glad you're ok kid. God I missed you." he signs in relief at the feeling of having his only daughter safe back with him and the other Avengers. Tony pulls you out of the hug, but keeps his hands on your shoulders. "Good job on taking down a God by the way, looks like your dagger skills have improved heaps on your adventures." You smile at him, not telling them all that Astral was the one who took him down and that you in fact saved the God from falling to his death instead of just letting him fall like your dad would have done.

After reuniting with Bruce, Steve, and Clint you see Pepper come out of the stairwell to check on Tony, but she stops in her tracks when she sees you. You smile at your Mum and run over to her, capturing her in a huge hug as she spins around from the force of you running into her. She starts to sob a little bit and you pull back from the hug to wipe the tears falling down her cheek with the sleeve of your shirt.

"Omg, Y/N! You're back... when did you- where have you- what on Earth were you doing for a month!" you sigh and look at Astral who isn't looking at you on purpose to avoid being brought into the protective rage of Pepper Pots.

"Traitor" you whisper under your breath at your dragon and Astral lifts her head up and laughs, making a deep vibrating sound. Pepper shakes your shoulders again and you look at you mum with a sorry look on your face.

"I'm sorry mum, there were some Nadders that needed help and I was trying to track their captors, which led to me finding another lot of nadders... I didn't mean to be gone for so long." You say and she smiles softly at you. She lets go of your shoulder and moves over to Tony who gives her a hug and then kisses her, you smile. You always love seeing your parents happy together, it makes you believe that love can be real. You inhale deeply trying to prevent the events of 3 years ago from playing in your mind. You feel a sharp pain in your right temple and raise your hand up to hold your head when the pain suddenly stops. You look around to your right to see Loki staring at you intensely. You feel the pain again, but this time you see a slow in his eyes as the shin a brighter green than his normal emerald eyes. You assumed this is what happened when he used his power. The pain got worse and you sucked in a deep breath through your teeth which made Thor look over to you and the pain stopped when he reached your side.

"Lady Y/N, are you ok? Are you in pain?" you shake your head lying to Thor and he hesitantly drops it and walks back over to the rest of the group. You feel Astral nudge your hand from behind you are you turn around to her running your hand from her nose all the way to the back of the neck to itch her favorite spot. She turns her head to the side and purrs while you itch her neck, right at the spot that she can't reach herself. You look back over to Loki who is watching you and Astral. You turn to Thor.

"What do we do with him now?"

"Well Lady Y/N, we take him back to Asgard." Thor replies

"We?" you ask in shock

"Yes, well mother misses you and you also have that handy compass on you." Thor smiles and you walk over to the rest of the group. Tony goes to open his mouth to object to you leaving again after just coming back but Pepper stops him. Just smiling at him and nodding before turning her head to you and smiling at you as well. You rush over to them and give them both a big hug and a kiss on their cheeks before going over to Astral and taking the compass out of her saddlebag and getting in her. Thor walks Loki out to the Landing strip and you follow them on Astral you look over to your parents one last time and smile at the both waving to you before pressing the button and being surrounded by rainbows in an instant.
