Raeda DISCONTINUED

Chapter 5

It's morning. Raine is probably going to stay and live with Eda in the owl house.

Raine woke up when Eda was still asleep. They thought she was so beautiful when she slept. Raine got up and stepped out of the nest when they heard Eda say," Wait for me," sleepily. She wrapped a blanket around herself, got up, and walked down the stairs. As always, Luz and King were already awake. "Good morning, guys." They said from behind Eda

Raine cooked something for them to eat for breakfast, Eda still was still burrito mode with her blanket. "I'm in the mood for a picnic," Eda said, "Can we go on a picnic? How does that sound?". "Ok, I like the idea. I can make sandwiches, " Raine added. "Yeah. Can we do a water balloon fight? I have water balloons, and it is a pretty sunny day." Luz suggested. "Ok, bring something you can get wet like a swimsuit. I'm gonna go upstairs to brush my hair," Eda said.

About 5 minutes later, Eda walked down the stairs with her brush tangled in her hair. "Someone help, please. I can't get it out." She said with a straight face. Luz, King, and Raine couldn't help but laugh. "How did that happen?" They said when they finished laughing. "Eda, if I get it out, can you let me braid your hair?" Luz said, hoping she'd say yes. "Ok, but you have to get it out without cutting anything,"She said. "Challenge accepted." She said.

The four went upstairs and watched Luz untangle Eda's brush. "There," She said as she took the brush. "Can I braid your hair now?". "Ok, a deal is a deal," Eda said. So Luz started brushing Eda's hair," Tell me if I pull it too tight," She said. Eda nodded and let Luz continue. Two minutes later, Luz was finishing braiding Eda's hair. "Ta-da," She said while doing jazz hand. "Do you like it?". She asked. "I love it, kiddo," Eda said while ruffling Luz's hair.

"Now, are we ready to go out?" Eda asked. "YEAH," They all shouted. "We have a slight problem though," Eda started." We are 4 people, well, King isn't a person but whatever, and we only have one staff. What do we do?". "I have an idea, me and King can go in your staff, and you can fly in Harpy mode and carry Raine, if it's ok with them, of course." Luz said. Eda looked at Raine. "Ok," they said.

Eda turned into Harpy Eda and picked up Raine bridal style. Luz and King flew into the sky with Eda's staff. Raine covered their face with their hand as Eda flapped her wings and started to fly. Once they were in the air, Raine slowly opened their eyes. They looked down and immediately closed their eyes once again, hugging Eda tightly," I don't like hights." They said. " I can barely fly on a staff. Ugh, why did I agree to this." Eda laughed at them. "At least Eda is with me," they muttered under their breath. "What did you say?" She said. "Nothing." They responded, slightly blushing.

So, the four arrived at ✨️a forest ✨️ and started to set up and get ready for the picnic. "So, do you guys want to start the water balloon fight now, or should we -" Eda couldn't finish her sentence because she got hit in the back of her head with a water balloon. She looked back and saw Luz, already in her swimsuit with a grinn on her face. Eda forgot to bring her swimsuit so she did the water balloon with a shirt and long jeans, she proceeded to grab a water balloon from the bag," You're going to regret that," She said.

Raine did the same, and King took off his collar (idk, he doesn't wear clothes). Eda threw a water balloon at Luz and hit her head, which made her hair wet. Raine and King were just watching for the moment, but a few seconds later, they joined Eda and Luz and started throwing water balloons at them, which resulted in a very fun and harmless battle and in everyone being soaking wet.

When there were no more water balloons left, each of them grabbed a towel and began drying themselves. They put on their clothes on top of their now dry swimsuit and sat down on the picnic blanket." I'm so hungry after that intense battle," King said. "Yeah, me too." Eda Raine and Luz said at the same time. "Let's get out the sandwiches," Raine said. They took four peanut butter and jelly sandwiches and gave one to each person. "Here," they said while giving them out.

Luz took a bite of her sandwich, and after a few seconds, said," Woah, these are so good! What did you put in them?" She asked, amazed. Raine smiled as they saw that Luz and King liked the sandwiches. "Well, I first toasted the bread, and then I spread penaut butter and jelly on it and cut them into triangles, but of course, the most important ingredient is love." They said. "THATS IT?!" Luz shouted," NO MORE?" Eda, Raine, and King burst out laughing.

They finished eating the sandwiches, talked for a bit, and went home (idk I don't have ideas)

--- at the house ---

Some time passed, they had dinner, talked for a bit, and went to bed. Eda and Raine went to say goodnight to King and Luz. Luz and King sat up in Luz's sleeping bag, and Luz looked at Raine.

"Raine, can you play us some music?" Luz asked, crossing her fingers they'd say yes. "Ok," they said, summoning their violin. "Can Eda join?" They asked while looking at her. "Only if she wants to," Luz answered. "I would like to, but my curse messes up my magic." Eda said. In that moment, Raine had an idea. "I think I can make that work," They said. "We'll stop before anyone gets hurt," They summoned Eda's bell cittern (Eda's instrument) and started performing Raine's Rasphody together.

Eda stopped after almost a minute, so the magic wouldn't kill them, and Raine continued to play their part of the duet. " I didn't know you could play an instrument." Luz said to Eda when they finished playing. "Yeah, Raine taught me a while back, and it was fun, so I kept practicing." Eda told her. "Well, goodnight. Sleep well." She said, closing the door.

Raine followed Eda into her room. She got into bed while Raine went to the toilet. When they finished, they washed their hands and saw a small glass shard on top of the sink. "Eda?" Raine called her name quietly, popping their head through the door. "Yes?" She said. "Why do you have a piece of glass on your sink?" When Eda heard the question, her heart dropped.

After a few seconds of no response, they called her name again,"Eda?" They went out of the bathroom and sat beside her on the bed, where she was sitting up hugging her knees. She pulled up her purple skirt she had on for sleep, revealing at least five scars on each leg. She didn't dare look them in the eye. "Eda... why didn't you tell me, I could've helped." She hugged them tight, burying her head in their chest.

At least two minutes passed, and Eda was still hugging raine. "I'm sorry," She said. "Nooooo, why are you sorry? You've done nothing wrong." They said. "Yes, I have. I'm not letting you sleep. You have to deal with my stupid problems, and I still haven't told you about the glass." She said, crying. "First of all, I'm not tired, second of all nothing about you is stupid and I'm glad to hear if you need help, and lastly, if it makes you uncomfortable talking about it, then don't. I already kind of know," They told her.

"No, no. I'm going to tell you, I can't just keep hiding things." She said. She told Raine that when she was younger, people bullied her and made her feel bad because of the curse and how she started self-harm and took her a while to quit. She also told about the night she hurt her father and about her problems with her mom because of the curse.

"I'm so sorry for breaking up with you all those years ago. If I knew this is what you were going through, I would have never broken up with you." They hugged her back and gave her a kiss on the forehead. This just made Eda cry even more. "We can do this for as long as you want." They said. She wiped the tears in her eyes and looked at them. Raine just smiled sweetly, which made Eda tear up again.

She gave them a kiss and laid down on their chest, where she fell asleep to them humming twinkle twinkle little star.

I kind of ran out of ideas for the last part.

This chapter was fun topped with a sprinkle of angst, not too much.
