I laid my head on my hands and yawned flinching as I felt a eraser jab me in the cheek.
I giggled and turned seeing Luke continually poking with his eraser. He laughed then stopped
suddenly as he saw Mackenzie giving him the death glare and faced forward looking away from me.
I flipped my pencil in my hand trying to ignore Mackenzie's eyes staring at the back of my head. I
opened my notebook and began to scribble and ended up sketching a big number 1 on the page.
I slammed the book closed realizing I had drawn Luke's football number.
I whispered softly,"what's with her?" I glanced over at Mackenzie. "She can get a little bitchy and act
like a brat and can be a lot to deal with...honestly I don't know why I'm with her," he said not
removing his eyes from his book writing notes. My eyes widened as I heard him say that and laughed hard on the inside,
but nodded returning to my work. "Sorry to hear that, everyone should be happy in their relationship,"
I whispered tapping my fingers as I imagined a piano at the tips of my fingers. "I know, but I don't
want to be jerk breaking up with her even though she's a bitch," he looked serious at first then chuckled.
Me and Luke did our work till the bell rang to go. I stood up grabbing my stuff watching Luke leave then watching Mackenzie walk up to me.
"I don't know who you think you are, but stay off my man, got it? He doesn't have time for a girl like you,"
she hissed then storming out the class room. I awkwardly left the classroom thinking about what she said to me looking over her words carefully.
"A girl like me?" I mumbled walking in the hall to my locker bumping into other people and ignoring them.
I unlocked my locker and stuffed my history, algebra, and Scientology book into my crammed locker
The rest off the day flew by as I did my notes and work and seemed to go faster than usual. I put the
rest of my books in my locker and headed out the door to walk home and bumped into another
person this time falling on the ground. "Hey! Watch where you're..." I looked up to see Luke laughing
at what had just happened and stuck out his hand to me to help me up. I took his big hand realizing it
was twice the size of my hand standing up hearing him saying," we really got to stop seeing each other like this and also stop running into each other," he chuckled.
We both laughed at parted ways, but as we did I glanced back for one second and saw a set of dark
brown and green eyes glaring at me and realizing they were Mackenzie's eyes and shivered headed
out the door as fast as I could heading home.
I thought about what would happen to me if I got closer to Luke and how Mackenzie would feel or possibly do to me for daring to talk to her "Man" shaking the feeling.
