"Wait, so you're going out with Harry tonight?" Sarah asked, which meant I avoided looking in her direction as she plopped down onto my bed. "When were you going to tell me this?!"
"Didn't think it would matter?" I answered, pulling my bottom lip between my teeth as I began sorting through some clothes in my closet, attempting to find something to wear since the temperature had dropped significantly, especially for California this time of year. "He just wants to take me somewhere, that's all-" I shrugged, nonchalantly. I don't see how it was a big deal, just two people, friends I guess you could say, hanging out. I glanced at the time on my phone, slight panic running through me as 6:33PM appeared across the screen.
"Where's he taking you?"
I finally decided on a yellow crewneck and pants, "Um, I'm actually not sure. He didn't say..."
"Interesting....soooo is this a date?" She asked with a raised brow, I could tell she was fighting a smirk as I walked back out to where she was. "Because that's what it sounds like."
Absolutely not. "No, it isn't a date!" I expressed, tossing my clothing filled hands into the air as I came to a stop in front of my bed. "We're just hanging out, ya know, like friends hang out."
"Ahhh-" She gave a nod, tapping her finger with her chin. "Like Mitch and I were hanging out as friends?" Before I could argue anything she quickly spoke again. "Look, you know your secret would be safe with me, I promise. He really is a great guy, hard not to like him in general really." She chuckled.
My feet carried me towards my bathroom, time quickly escaping me. "What are you and Mitch doing tonight?" I asked hoping to change the subject while clambering out of my clothes, quickly pulling on the new.
"We just decided to order pizza and watch a movie, Dustin is gonna third wheel." A sigh of relief fell from my lips as she went along with the subject change.
I did a quick touchup on my very basic makeup, thankfully not needing to do anything with my hair that just flowed down my back in waves, and walked back into the room to find her in the same spot as before, which was to be expected. "Well, if my night ends early I would love to join you guys, if you don't mind of course."
"You know you're always welcome, but something tells me that your night isn't gonna end early." I only gave her a shrug as I made my way to the drawer to dig for some socks. "Mia, it's not a bad thing. Okay, maybe this is just a casual thing right now, but I'd be lying if I said everyone didn't see an instant connection between the two of you."
"You said it yourself-" I muttered, flopping onto the bed next to her to pull my socks on. "He's a great guy, he has a connection with everyone he meets, it's Harry we're talking about." Sarah let out an exaggerated sigh as she fully laid down. "Anyways, I'm not looking for a relationship, I've been through-" Realization filled my eyes at the words that almost slipped from my mouth, "...I'm just trying to work on myself right now."
