"False Genius" and "Lazy Genius"

Prologue

Pov: 3-rd face.

In the psychologist's office, they brought another victim of the White Room experiments, an institution that planned to create child prodigies out of ordinary children.

The psychologist looked at a 10 year old boy with brown hair and golden eyes who had an emotionless face, which surprised the psychologist, who had previously seen children from WR, and their psychological health was terrible.

But this brown haired boy did not look depressed or happy and it was as if he had no feelings. The analysis showed that he was quite adequate, but the bureaucracy demanded that all the formalities be fulfilled.

- Introduce yourself, boy, what is your name?

Asked the psychologist a question.

- My name is Kiyotaka object#401, student of 4th generation. I speak more than 20 languages, and have studied piano, tea ceremonies and calligraphy in my spare time. No particular interests.

The boy answered as if he was filling out protocol papers. Calm in conversation, no discomfort. Well, formalities have been completed. We can move on with the protocol.

After a long trial, Kiyotaka was found sane and competent. After which, he was adopted by the Oreki family.

- Meet him children. This is Kiyotaka, now the new part of our family, I hope you'll get along with him.

- .....Hello...

Because he's so unsociable (he hasn't talked to anyone before) he had a hard time adjusting to his new surroundings. Kiyotaka is withdrawn, much to the chagrin of his parents Hotaro and Tomoe Oreki.

Then one day...

- Hi, my name is Tomoe and this is Hotaro. Kiyotaka, let's be friends.

Tomoe suggests friendship out of the blue, not surprisingly so with her temper, but Hotaru does not mind if Kiyotaka becomes their real brother.

After this, the parents were surprised at the change in their children.

Kiyotaka, Hotaro, and Tomoe spent time together, either playing or doing something else. Their parents, on the other hand, called them the "Insufferable Trio", though it mostly started with suggestions from Tomoe on "what to do", but they had fun.

When Tomoe, started travelling, before each journey, she would gave "riddle with trick".

So that the two brothers, as she says: "don't turn into reclusive hikkies, and go out more often while I'm gone."

One of the riddles, was to solve the cipher, and figure out what message was encrypted. They got this riddle from a letter that Tomoe sent.

As the two brothers were not lacking in intelligence, they deciphered the message the day after they received the riddle from their sister.

This led them to the tree they had planted, four years ago. They dug out from there, a small box, and inside was a note.

Looks like you've solved that mystery too. Congratulations to Hotaro and Kiyotaka.

You know, I was really happy when I heard that you got into ANHS Kodo Ikusei, but unfortunately, I won't be able to see it for myself. I'm very sorry.

So, under the second bottom, which Kiyotaka has already discovered, is my little gift, which is a coupon, for free portions of ice cream.

This was the last mystery of the mystery so far. They solved the mystery and went home with a sense of accomplishment. They had bought ice-cream the same day and strangely enough, the cold 'ice-cream-chan' gave Kiyotaka a headache, a condition Hotaru called 'brain freeze' while holding back a chuckle and keeping a nonchalant face.

But, Kiyotaka still, couldn't understand how ordinary ice cream could, freeze a person's brain. Since there's no such thing as freezing.

So at the usual pace, two days passed. Which means it's time to head to the ANHS Kodo Ikusei.
