Amelia

I walked down to the street pacing back and forth on the concrete trying to get an uber or taxi that could take me back home. But nothing. Either there were no cars available or it would take at least two hours for one to get here and I did not want to wait on the street this late for more that two hours and going back to Liam's was definitely not an option.

I sat down on the pavement trying to collect my thoughts. There was one person that popped into my mind but I was dreading having to call him out of work hours. Hotch. My mind thought that he lives in the same building as me so it would be most convenient to call him since nobody I knew lived close to me. I opened my phone again scrolling down my contacts to find his. Hovering with my thumb over his name I contemplated about whether it was really a good idea to call him. I mean he already hated me and I bet that wouldn't get any better if I called him in the middle of the night asking to be picked up almost 40 minutes away from where we live. But somehow I mustered up the courage to call.

A few tones went through making me start to regret my decision. But just as I was about to hang up his voice sounded against my ear.

"Amelia? Is everything okay?" He asked.

"Hi, sorry if I woke you up" I tried to steady my voice.

"Oh. I was awake. What do want?" I could hear his sternness over the phone.

"Uhm I need to ask you a favor."

"Okay." He simply answered waiting for me to continue.

"Could you come pick me up? I didn't know who else to call. There are no taxis or ubers and I can't walk ho-" But before I could finish Hotch interrupted me mid sentence.

"Amelia. Where are you?" He hurriedly asked. I could hear footsteps on the other end of the line.

"I'm on the street outside Liam's apartment" I confess now trying to hold back the tears I felt choking me up.

I could hear him stop walking.

"Then you do you need me to drive you?"

"Hotch please." I pleaded. "I can answer any questions you have just." I paused. "I can't go back in there."

"Okay. What's the address?"

"I'll text you it"

"Alright. I'm on my way"

"Thank you" Let out the breath I didn't know so was holding.

I hung up the phone and sent Hotch the address.

About forty minutes later I saw headlights moving towards me. Praying that it was Hotch and not some serial killer. Although that didn't feel to bad either right now. The car stopped in front of me and rolled down the passenger window. In the car thankfully it was Hotch. I quickly grabbed my bag before opened the door. It was dark outside so I prayed and hoped he hadn't seen the messed up side of my face. I really didn't have the energy to talk about it right now.

I looked right through the windshield not wanting to face him. "Thank you for coming so quickly" I mustered up my shaky voice to say.

"Sure, wanna tell me what happened?" His voice was soft, gentle not like his usual.

"Not really" I glanced at him who was scanning over me.

"Okay let's get home then" He said putting the car into drive, pulling out from the sidewalk.

We rode back home in silence. The only sound was the soft background noise of the radio playing quietly. Through out the drive I felt him glance over at me every other minute. But he didn't say a word. Which I was kind of thankful for.
