"Shit!" I cussed. I accidentally pushed my coffee cup down from my desk. Causing it to fracture into small pieces on the floor. Leaving a puddle of it's contents with it.

I stood from my chair and walked down to the kitchen area to get something I could clean up the spill with. I found Amelia making herself another cup of coffee with her usual amount of sugar and creamer. Which just happens to be an insane amount of it.

"Hey." She said under her breath and smiled up from the cup as she noticed my presence.

"Hey." I murmured back, unable to keep a soft smile from forming. She reached her hand backwards less than an inch. I took it for a moment, giving it a reassuring squeeze before letting her go. Not really wanting to.

If I could I would scream for the whole world that she's mine. But with our current situation. That would most likely lead to one of us either being transferred or fired. Most likely Amelia and there's no chance in hell I'd ever let that happen. Both for my own selfish reasons, but also because the team loves her. I could only imagine what they would have to say about us if they were to find out.

I walked a few steps away from her to grab a roll of paper towels and a trash bag to put the porcelain pieces in.

"What are you doing tonight?"Amelia said quietly so only I would hear while turning around so her back was leaning against the counter. She took a quick sip of her sugary beverage.

"I have to catch up on some paperwork." I looked up at her from the items in my hands.

"Anything I can help with?" She glanced at me with a soft smile.

"No." I shook my head softly. "Thank you though."

Rossi walked in to the room with his coffee cup in hand. Amelie smiled at him before calmly walking back to her desk. Diverting my attention I grabbed a few other cleaning supplies from under the sink then left for my office before Dave had the chance to start up a conversation.

I closed the file I'm holding onto as I saw snowflakes falling outside my office window. Before calling it a night I grabbed my phone sending a text to Amelia.

Me: Hey. I'm finishing up here in a few. Have you eaten?

Amelia: No:) But I'm starving. Just got home from the gym.

Me: How do you feel about Chinese?
Sent 8:24

Amelia: I feel like I really like it ;) I'm gonna take a shower. Get me whatever<3 I'll leave a key under my doormat;)

My heart thudded against my chest skipping out of rhythm as my eyes skim over the little heart in her message.

Me: I'll see you in a bit.

Coward. I think to myself as I read my reply over and over again. But I brush past it and call the restaurant. Ordering for both of us while packing up for the day.

As most days my car is the last one on my parking level. I drive to the restaurant picking up the food, then drive home.

Before going over to Amelia's I enter my own apartment. Leaving my gun and identification in my safe. I leave locking my door. About to knock on Amelia's door, but I remember her text. So I crouched down lifting her doormat to retrieve the key.
