The first time Charlotte had the Cruciatus Curse placed upon her was at age 4.
She was in her room with Sirius when her father bursted in, grabbed her by the right ear and dragged her all the way downstairs to his study.
Her mother was already there, twirling her wand across her fingers tauntingly, her smirk growing at the sight of the clueless girl who now had an ear the shade of a tomato.
Unknowingly to the trio, the last member of the Black family crept downstairs at the sight of his twin being dragged down and waited by the stairs for her.
He started to turn around until he heard unruly screams. Screams that could, and probably did, shatter glass panels and peoples glasses.
A scream he recognised at the feminine version of his own.
Sirius ran to the door of the study and peeped his head in, as he watched his baby sister, by a minute, fall to her knees. She screamed and cried and whimpered as his mother held her wand over the helpless child for a good minute or two.
The parents manically laughed until finally realising her from the pain she was enduring before leaving the study.
Sirius had to run upstairs so that he wasn't caught or he wouldn't been next.
When he heard the front door's lock click shut, signalling they had left, only then did he dash downstairs and into the study.
He almost broke down at the sight of his sister in so much pain still.
He scooped her up safety in his arms and carried her all the way up to his room before she nearly passed out on the study floor.
He hugged her tightly and stroked her hair as she recalled all the gruesome details of the curse.
How she felt like she was burning hot and how she felt she would've died.
He stayed awake the whole time, making sure she was safe.
Charlotte and Regulus were the only family he had left.

Sirius endured the pain of the Cruciatus curse 6 years later, when the twins were 10 and Regulus was just turning 8.
Sirius had stayed out a little later than allowed and had made the mistake of arguing back.
———
"But mum! Dad! I was only 10 minutes late! It's really not that big of a de-"
He was cut off with a loud yell of, "CRUCIO!"
As he erupted the house in screams.
"Get up and stop wallowing! Be a man, Sirius! Leave him now, Love."
Charlotte immediately dashed downstairs after him screaming for a minute to see him lying on the floor, shaking and crying. It wasn't often that Sirius cried, only when he was truly sad or hurt.
Their parents had long gone and Charlotte had told Regulus to stay upstairs and stay out of harm's way.
Charlotte put Sirius' head in her lap and softly played with his hair while she hummed him a random tune she had heard one day.
For everyone thinking they lived the
'Pureblood fantasy', it was a pretty shitty fantasy to be in.
At least the 3 kids thought so.
