Ik that it is currently August and not Christmas but I need to update this book and it felt like it had been ages since Charlotte received the letter so 🤷‍♀️

———

The time had come. Over half the wizards and witches favourite season; winter.

Will the warm, fun-filled festivities and the secret trips to the kitchen for those who chose to stay at Hogwarts, there was a lot to love.

But Charlotte was scared. Very scared.

Her mother had demanded that she'd come home this year and she was forced to go in order to protect herself and her brothers.

The Marauders had accepted that Lottie was a Werewolf and her and Remus now knew about each other's conditions, causing their friendship to strengthen.

Everything was perfect.

For now.

———

"Do you really have to go?" Sirius asked for the fifth time that morning. It was the day Lottie was due home.

The pair was at the station, waiting for Charlotte's train to take her home.

"Yes, unfortunately." Charlotte complains. She would rather jump off of the Astronomy Tower than go home.

"I bet that they'll have another party." The girl rolled her eyes at the thought of the outfit she'd be forced to wear.

"Well, goodluck. Also, be careful. Don't get yourself hurt." Sirius said. "I wouldn't forgive myself if you came back looking like you were dragged through hell feet-first."

The two siblings hugged each other like it was the last time before the rest of the group came over and joined, surprising the two.

They all hugged for a minute before a quiet cough erupted the silence.

"Can I say goodbye too?" Regulus asked.

Sirius grabbed his brother and brought him into the hug as well.

———

The Slytherin boy couldn't help but feel guilty at what had happened to his older sister not even a month ago.

After Evan had told him, he had to act like it was fine but inside he was heartbroken at the thought of his older sister in difficulty angered him to his core.

But he could never say anything or he would be called a blood-traitor and worse names.

His parents would've killed him.

———

Regulus snapped back to reality and broke free from the hug and looked around to check that no Slytherins saw him hugging five Gryffindors.

Thankfully, no one did.

———

After Charlotte had said goodbye to James and Peter individually, she moved onto Remus.

It was an awkward moment before Remus said-"Have you got your inhalers?"causing Lottie to laugh and say. "Yes Remus, I've got my inhalers."

Remus laughed slightly before pulling the small girl into a hug, with her head on his chest and his hands around her waist.

"I'll miss you." He murmured into her ear, sending shivers down her spine before Charlotte said. "It's only a couple weeks. But I'll miss you too."

Remus released her as she got onto the train and waved goodbye with the three others.

"Write soon!"

"Don't do anything I wouldn't do!"

"Keep my book safe!"

"Be careful!"

After the train had left, James asked Sirius a hard question to answer.

"Why did you tell her to be careful Pads?" He asked confused as Remus and Peter looked at Sirius, waiting for an answer.

"W-well because, uhm..." Sirius thought for a moment before continuing. "She'll be at a party and she might get her drink poisoned or something like that."

"Oh, Alright. Just thought I'd check if everything is okay." James answered.

"Yup! Everything's perfect!" Sirius lied, convincing everyone.

For now.
