Life for Charlotte Black in her household was hell.
Not in the gruesome place people assume that miscellaneous criminals end up in the afterlife- a living nightmare.Instead, a torturous room where you were stranded, day and night, with people poking and prodding at you until you snap.
With being cursed of having parents of Walburga and Orion Black, hell was at your fingertips. You would be awaiting death, excited even.
All up until Charlotte got her Hogwarts acceptance letter on 3rd November 1970 along with her twin, Sirius Black.
Then they would have some sort of freedom, some joy in the cruel world.
Except for the part where Charlotte would need to lie awake every night, observing the night sky until it was safe to sleep. Constantly living in fear that it was going to randomly change and her whole life would be ripped apart.
Little did she know that someone in the opposite dorm to her, has the same, little, fury problem.

The Black Manor- 1970
An 11 year old Charlotte lay on the floor of her bedroom, staring up at the blank ceiling above her.
'What if I was born to a different family?' She thought.
'Would I be so hard still for me?"
These thoughts spiralled for a bit until her name shattered her thoughts.
"Charlotte Alnair Black! Get down here now!" A shrill voice erupting through the child's head.
What had she done now?
Charlotte rushed downstairs as fast as her small feet could carry her and speed-walked into the Living Room, replying calmly with the words, "Yes, Mother?"
"Who has been writing to you?"
Charlotte's face creased up with confusion as her twin brother sat in one of the couches on the opposite side of the room- staring into space.
Sirius often did that when he heard shouting in the household and he has gotten rather good at zoning out and back in when needed.
"U-uh," Charlotte racked her brain but came up with no one. "I haven't been writing to anyone mother."
"Then why is there a letter with your name on it?"
Walburga thrusted the letter into the small girls hands carelessly, causing one of the corners to bend slightly, which made Charlotte frown.
"Well? What are you waiting for? Open it!"
Charlotte carefully and cautiously peeled back the red, wax seal on the back that was stamped with a logo of some sort, and opened the letter.
It read:

"Well? What does it say? Spit it out!"
Still in shock, Charlotte handed over the letter.
"Oh. Your father can take you to Diagon Alley tomorrow and get everything you need. Away you go." She whisked her hand in a motion that meant for her to go away before doing the same to Sirius.
Now Charlotte had a chance to live properly.
