Chapter 30

"Tia! Tia! TIA!"

My screams are cut short when Grey takes me into his arms. Still sobbing, I'm pulling at his shirt as if trying to find refuge inside of it. John rushes to my other side, continuously asking what happened.

"He's going to kill me! He's watching. He's going to kill me! Please, help me, Grey. Don't let him get me. I'm so scared! John!"

My entire body visibly quivers and I can see a look of concern on Grey's face as he pulls away slightly. He wipes my tears as he takes in deep breaths, as a therapist, he knows that I'm likely to mimic him and I do. Focusing on his eyes, his fingers rubbing my shoulders, and John caressing my knee, I slowly start to calm down.

"Who are you talking about? Who's watching you? What happened? I've got you, boo. It's ok...you're safe," Grey is on edge and visibly shaken up.

After a while I've calmed down enough to have a coherent conversation with the guys, but my hand is still trembling as I'm reaching for my phone and handing it to John.

"I don't know who it is, but this is the second weird message I've gotten from that number. I don't know how I'd forgotten about the first one but I just saw it when this one came through. This person threw a boulder through my window around 3:00 a.m. It triggered the alarm, the police had to come and everything."

I feel like I'm going crazy! What else do I not remember?

John reads the message and looks at the picture attached, then speaks, snatching me from my thoughts, "Oh my goodness, T. I can only imagine how scary that was. So, that's why there's a board over the window. We should've insisted on staying with you. Oh my goodness, we should've been here to protect you."

"No, I told you guys to go. I know you would've stayed if I asked but none of us could've known this would happen. The police were extremely helpful, they searched the entire house, and even stayed with me until dawn. I don't know if it's customary to be provided police protection but I didn't argue about it."

"Is that who's in the picture with you?" Grey can only catch a glimpse when John flashes the screen his way.

"Yes, that is Officer Jeon. He was so kind and I felt so safe with him here."

"Well, babes, I think you may need to go ahead and call him. Report this text now before this maniac does something else."

I take John's advice and call Officer Jeon. I explain what the text says and inform him of the previous message I received weeks ago. I expound on my experiences, that I had been so confused, falling in and out of consciousness, unaware as to what was real or just a weird dream. I provide the sender's number and he asks if I am safe then says that he'll be on his way over after he gets more information on the number.

Grey, John, and I make our way down to the kitchen and converse more about the incident while I brew a pot of coffee. My hands are still shaky but I need to be doing something...I need to try to take my mind off of this shitshow.

"You promised that you would call if anything happened," Grey states almost inaudibly.

"I did promise, but you have to understand that everything happened so quickly."

"I can understand that but..." Grey takes a moment and releases a deep sigh before he continues. "... Tia, I don't know what I would do if something were to happen to you. You are like a little sister to us. Please, come and stay at our place for a while, at least until all of this shit is over."

"I love you both and you're like brothers to me, as well. I'm not going to lie, I'm scared as fuck but at the same time... I refuse to let this motherfucker drive me out of my own home."
