Thor lifted a brow when Dean and Kyle returned from the restroom. Dean wore a glowing smile and carried himself with an air of excitement.
"Fair One?" Thor asked, taking his husband in his arms.
Dean rested his hands on Thor's chest and kissed his lips with a joyous hunger. "Have I told you how much I love you tonight?"
Thor grinned drunkenly and slipped his hands into Dean's back pockets. "Yes. But I never tire hearing it."
"I love you."
"And I love you," Thor said, pressing his forehead gently against Dean's.
Dean looked up into Thor's eyes and the thunder god could sense that there was something below the surface, just waiting to ascend.
"What is it?" Thor asked.
Kyle smiled excitedly and signaled for the others to get quiet. The air was charged with anticipation and Thor licked his lips.
"We're going to need to start making some changes around the house," Dean explained.
"Yes?" Thor prompted, his pulse quickening as realization began to blossom and swell within his chest.
"Because we're pregnant!"Dean exclaimed.
Thor's grin exploded into a huge smile and a loud and celebratory cry sprang out of him. He lifted Dean up and spun him around, bliss settling upon them like sunlight. "You are serious?" Thor asked. "You mean it?"
"Yes! I'm completely serious!" Dean cried out. Then he shut his eyes and channeled the distant glimmer of their unborn child. With a little psychic push, he shared its presence with Thor, whose eyes brimmed with unshed tears. The others cheered excitedly as Thor embrace Dean and cried into his neck as everyone patted them on the backs and gathered them in a massive group hug. As the celebration of new life and friendship filled the night, Dean couldn't help but wonder how things could get any better.
Later that night, beneath a blanket of stars, Thor lay beside Dean and stared down at his face. Having broken away from the group, they retreated to the rooftop of Neon where they found a cozy outdoor sofa big enough for both of them.
"What are you doing?" Dean asked, gently pressing his pointer finger into Thor's pec.
"Studying you," Thor said in a playful voice.
"Studying me?"
Thor adopted the sternly clinical expression he'd seen Bruce, Tony and Reed use. "You are quite the specimen, Fair One."
Dean playfully glared. "A specimen?"
"Yes," Thor drawled. "I think my hypothesis about you is correct."
"And that would be?"
"That you are the most remarkable being in the world," Thor said, his tone shifting to affectionate seriousness. "And that I am the luckiest because I can call you mine."
Dean stayed silent as Thor continued to stare down at him while he rubbed his fingers along Dean's face and neck.
"You have made me so happy," Thor whispered with an intensity that evoked tears. "I never imagined I would find all of my happiness in one person. But you have shown me that. And I am, once again, so sorry for anything I have done to harm you..."
Dean covered Thor's mouth. "Shh. Don't spoil things with that. It's behind us."
Thor held Dean's hand and kissed it. "Yes. And what we have ahead of us is far better."
"And deserves all of our focus," Dean added.
Thor cupped Dean's face. "It is okay to not be okay sometimes though. You are allowed to reflect on past hurts and feel them. Only let me feel them with you."
