Over the next few days, when he wasn't busy training his abilities, Taylor found himself spending the bulk of his time with Dean and Kyle. Though tension was high initially, this began to gradually decrease as Dean and Kyle grew to be more trusting of him.

"I still can't believe you guys want to be my friend after everything," Taylor said one day while they were having lunch at Dean and Thor's house.

"You were being manipulated," Dean reasoned. "Your grief was being used against you."

Taylor shrugged his shoulders and picked at his food. "I still feel guilty about it."

"Well, you're the only person holding it against you," Kyle said.

Taylor looked down at his plate and shrugged. "I know. That's what Mark keeps saying."

"And," Dean said with a big smile as he reached over to wipe Modi's chin. "As a show of good will, you and Mark are going on a triple date with us."

Taylor brightened a little and smiled at Dean and Kyle. He knew that the ache of losing his whole world would stay with him. But knowing that he'd gained these new friends who accepted him despite his recent shortcomings was a balm for the pain. The only thing remaining was finding out who had toyed with his pain and used it in such a way. Names like Loki and Amora had been thrown around, and though he wasn't familiar with either of these individuals, he found out that the Avengers had a long and turbulent history with both of them.

"There's this insane new sushi bar I've been wanting to try," Kyle said. "Do you like sushi? Did they have sushi where you come from?"

Taylor rolled his eyes. "Yes, they had sushi. We weren't savages."

"Well, you never know!" Kyle said.

"I'll get in touch with my parents and see if they can keep the boys," Dean said, despite knowing that this wouldn't be an issue. He felt immense gratitude and happiness swelling within him as he thought about how lucky he truly was. He had family and friends who had become family. He had a home and a community. He had a place in the world.

The following weekend, Thor glared at his husband and friends as they watched him attempt to use his chopsticks to pick up a piece of sushi.

"Just take it slow," Steve coached with a broad smile on his face.

Thor lifted an eyebrow. "Do not patronize me, Rogers," he said with playful rage. He raised the morsel to his mouth and then, slowly and delicately, he opened his mouth to take it. Once he started to chew, his table mates cheered loudly.

"I'm so proud of you," Dean teased before kissing Thor's cheek.

"Have more sake, Fair One," Thor said as he pointed to the bottle. "And you can show me just how proud you are."

"Uh-oh!" Kyle said with a comical gasp.

Dean, who was already quite buzzed, grinned drunkenly and his cheeks flushed bright red. He slowly slid his hand along Thor's thigh, resting it on his cock which promptly twitched to life. "I love that you're always hard," Dean said into Thor's ear.

Across the table, Kyle started to laugh mid-sip and had to cover his mouth with a napkin. "You totally don't know how to whisper when you're drunk, Dean!" He chuckled.

The others were collectively laughing and Dean shrugged his shoulders and rested his head on Thor's shoulder. "Whatever," he stuttered.

Thor pulled Dean even closer, loving the way his husband's smaller body conformed to his so instinctively.

"So, what's the plan after dinner?" Mark asked. "Are we still dancing?"

"Uh, duh!" Taylor and Dean said in unison.
