Chapter 8 : There's something about childhood friends that you just can't replace.

Good morning.../

"Anio. Anio. Delete it." Jaesang annoyingly erased his text message. "What should I say?"

Jaesang cleared his throat, "Come on, Jaesang! Get back to your senses. You must not show kindness or even a little remorse."

Annyeong. Have you talked to the owner of the scooter yet?.../

"Aaaaaah! Why is this so frustrating?!" he yelled, "How should I text her?"

Jaesang could not believe that the employee he was mad at was the same person who was driving the scooter that he accidentally damaged yesterday. It actually put him into a deep thinking and turned him into frustration.

He sighed, "Arasso. Jaesang, you have nothing to be ashamed of. She's just a mere employee, okay?"

Annyeong. Let me know how much it will cost.../

He send her another message just in case she couldn't recognize his number.

- Director S.J

Jaesang was surprised when Assistant on barged in his office. He didn't even noticed that he accidentally pressed the smiley sticker on his phone and send it to Park Ha Neul.

"Yah!" he hissed, "Don't you know how to knock?!"

He put down his phone on the table, still unaware of sending a sticker to Ha Neul.

"Woah." Assitant Oh chuckled, "What's with the temper? Did something bad happened again?"

Jaesang sighed, "I don't know what to do."

"With who?" Assistant Oh curiously asked, "Will you be charged by the scooter owner?"

Jaesang boredly looked at Assistant Oh, "Yah. It would be nicer if I just could charged, but that's not the case."

"So what's the problem? Why are you so problematic about it? You can just fire him or bribe him. Just like what you always do." Assistant Oh suggested.

Jaesang took a deep breath and massaged his temple, "The owner of that scooter is that rookie I embarrassed. I just couldn't accept that, of all people, she was the one who owns that."

"WHAT?" Assistant Oh surprisingly reacted. "So are you saying that her phone rang during conference meeting because you called her?"

"Deh." He boredly answered.

Assistant Oh's eyes widened, "That also means that the rookie employee is innocent. Director Song, don't you think it's time to admit that it was your fault?"

"What?" Jaesang couldn't believe his ears, "Admit that it was my fault? Whether it's me or another person, it's unethical to use phone during meeting."

Assistant Oh nodded, "I know but if you didn't call her, she wouldn't even use her phone."

Jaesang fell silent. He thought about it. He knew he was wrong, but he could not accept it. His phone rang and it was from Park Ha Neul.

Okay. Let's talk later, Seongsaengnim Song.../

Then there was heart sticker on it.

His forehead twitched, "Wae? Why did she send that?"

Then he realized, he was the first one who mistakenly send a smiley sticker to her.

"Of all people, why did he has the same initials with that kid I met 15 years ago?" she wondered while holding the paper heart that S.J gave to her when they once met.

She always carried it whenever she goes, it serves as her lucky charm to save any day. And today just happened, she encountered someone with the same initials as the boy she met before. Sometimes, she wanted to think that Director Song was the same boy she met before, she really have a gut feeling that it was him from the moment she saw him running under the rain, he made her remember of someone who made her wait for the rain. But she's scared that she might also be wrong. She's afraid that he may not remember it. But she feels like the boy she met 15 years ago is just around, waiting for her to recognize him.

The door opened. It was Director Song with his usual straight face emotion. She quickly stood up and bowed.

"Annyeonghaseyo." She greeted.

Director Song just nodded and motioned her to sit, he took his swivel chair placed across to her.

He then cleared his throat, "So what did the owner say?"

"Oh, that, he said that any amount will do." She lied. Daehyun didn't know about that Director Song ripped his scooter, all that he knew was she fell off the scooter.

Director Song was surprised, "Jinja? Are you sure? Or do you want me to talk to the owner personally? I don't think any amount will do."

"Anio, anio." She furiously decided, "It's really okay with him and he's a busy person so he has no time to talk to you anymore so... he just let me settle things with you."

"Okay. Give me your bank account and I'll send the money." He handed her a small paper.

She took the paper and write down her account, "Igos." Then she give it back to Director Song.

Jaesang cleared his throat, "By the way."

"Deh?"

"Well, about that sticker... I mistakenly send it to you." He awkwardly said. "geundae wae... what about the one you sent with hearts in it?"

"Deh. Arasso.." Ha Neul awkwardly smiled, "I...just made a mistake."

Director Song was stunned, "What?"

"I just made a mistake." She repeated. "Don't think of me as a strange, Seonsaengnim. I wasn't really going to send you that.. it was supposed for my-"

Director Song raised his hand to stop her, "Arasso. We're done talking, you can leave now."

He motioned the door to Ha Neul.

"Deh." She awkwardly stood up and bowed, "Annyeong."

Ha Neul was about to leave when she noticed something on his table, her eyes were glued into it. Her heart beat went fast as she slowly looked at Director Song.

"Wae?" he curiously asked.

"Impossible." She muttered.

"What are you talking about?" he asked.

"Where did you get that?" she nervously asked as she pointed the other half of her paper heart, she never knew the kid she met keep the other heart of the one he gave her. It looks old but still in shape.

Director Song fell silent and stared at the paper heart.

She quickly fished out her paper heart and put it beside Director Song's.

"I couldn't believe my eyes." She unbelievably muttered.

She looked at Director Song but his eyes were glued on the Paper Hearts, "15 years ago, I met someone who gave me the other half of that Paper Heart. He told me that if I want the rainbow, I gotta put up with the rain."

"Igos..." she pointed the Paper Heart pertaining on what's written on it. "You're like a sunshine on a rainy day. He just put his initials there. S.J."

She took Director Song's Paper Heart and loudly read, "It's a beautiful thing to meet someone who makes you forget your trouble. Nice to meet you, the girl in the rain."

It started to rain outside.

She then gazed back to Director Song, "I waited for you. I waited in every rain to come and meet you again. Do you remember me?"
