I look out the door with Sam as Ruby storms upstairs crying. Whoa, what's gotten into her? Oh, it must've been Mother. How could she do this?! She doesn't deserve to be a mother!
Sam takes my hand and stomps downstairs, me trailing behind. Sam shouts, "Mother!"
Mother turns around, smiling, then frowning, saying "What's wrong?"
Sam takes a deep breath and leans in close to Mother with a scary expression on her face, "I have a question for you, and don't even try to lie— where were you for all these years, when Ruby did everything for us?! Where were you when we needed someone who wasn't busy with school like Ruby was, when we needed help?! And then you blame her for this and that, tell her how to do this or that, when you've probably never done a fraction of what Ruby has done. You don't deserve to have children."
Mother pales at every word Sam says, stepping back. "How could you say that to me?! Remember, I'm the reason you came into this world!" she says.
I have to say something now. "Wow. Just wow! Mother, I hate you! You're an ugly, fat donkey!" I yell.
Then, I head upstairs, go into my room, and slam the door. Just then, I hear a cry. Oh my freaking gosh. We completely forgot about Alice!
