Lewis and I peek out of the door as we see Ruby run up the stairs, tears streaming down her face.
I would never stand up to Mother, but she crossed the line this time.
I grabbed Lewis's arm and we ran down the stairs. I was fuming, and you could practically see the smoke billowing from my head. "Mother!" I shout.
She spins around, a smile plastered on her phony face. Then she frowns. "What's wrong?"
