The wire pt.3

POV. Quinn
— playing through season 1 episode 8 —

Dad puts the car into parking and shuts down the motor. By the little things I can see I can tell we're at a motel near the airport, wich I make out from the sound of planes.
From what I've heard it'll only be some more minutes till mom goes in.
I hear dad taking out his phone and playing something. It's a video of him
And mom. From the sound of it it's the one right before their wedding. I've seen these about s million times. Hearing her happy, healthy voice makes me want to get out the car and run to hold onto her and never ever let go again.
Someone getting in the car interrupts my thoughts.
„Hey!" I hear Lopez say sitting down in the passenger seat.
„What are you doing here?" dad asks.
„Are you kidding? Hanging out near the airport is a normal Tuesday night for me." she jokes. „You'd be right here if the situations were reversed." she continues. „And I brought fries."
„Thanks." he says getting over himself.
It stays quiet for a second.
Than dad mockingly adds: „you know, you'd have to be in an actual relationship for the situations to be reversed."
„What are you my mother?" she responses.

Then their conversation is disturbed by mom taking a deep breath and saying: „okay here we go"
I'm guessing she's going in now.
We hear her knocking on a door and Someone opening it.
„Who are you!" a deep scary voice says.
„Carson send me." I guess Carson must be the boyfriend she's been hooking up with while her husband and kid where out there worrying for her life.

„She's nervous" dad says him obviously being the nervous one.
"She's fine. She's done stuff like this before." Angela calms him.

The man the tries to get mom to leave but she holds the door and talks about some money that Carson owes to some Vance. I guess he's the man their sending her in to get.

We then hear her walking in and the door being shot.
"You Vance?" She asks.
She's in there with a highly wanted criminal.
I have to put my hand infront of my mouth to slow my breathing so that Angela and dad won't hear me.
"You got my money?" Probably the most scetchy voice I have ever heard asks back.
He procides to talk about killing Carson wich sends chills down my spine. If he talks about it this easy he won't hesitate to do it too.
"It's done." I hear dad say.
I start to exhale relived when mom starts talking again:
„Hey, we could move more than this." what is she doing? My hands are sweaty and I can barely keep myself from lifting up the blanked to catch a better breath.
„What the hell is she doing?" dad asks upset.
No this is not good!

Mom has to wait in that mama room alone with him. He starts speaking again: „I know you from someplace?"
„I don't think so!" she says
Oh no he's onto her.

After a minute of talking we hear a pull and mom screaming.
„What happened?" Angela asks stressed.
What if this was the last time I saw my mom? I ask myself freaking out.
„We lost signal!" dad says panicking.

He communicates with the detectives over mic before saying.
„No! I'm going in!" he gets his gun and Angela and he jump out of the car.
„All positions move in!" I hear a voice over radio.
I wait one second before getting out too.
I need to see her! I need to know what happened.
I run after dad and Angela as quiet as I can.

Dad kicks in the door and they all move in.
