The wire pt.1

Pov. Quinn.

The annoying sound of my alarm clock pulls me back from the world of dreams.
„Ughhh" i sigh not wanting to get up.
I swing myself out of bed still contemplating just going back to sleep.

After deciding more trouble with dad wouldn't be a good Idea i finally actually get up.

I walk into the kitchen.
„Good morning" i say carefully. I feel horrible about yesterday. I mean he isn't the easiest but what I said wasn't fair. But then again apologising isn't my favourite thing to do.

„Morning" he says back.
Goodness the man is good at hiding his emotions. He always has this frowning look and you don't know if it's just his resting face or if he is actually mad at you.

I contemplate cutting into the topping but the I realise that would mean either me apologising or another fight so I just keep my mouth shut.

We both don't say much until it's time to get into the car and drive to school.

Ring ring

Oh that reliving sound. I grab my bag and head to the back entrance to where dads always picking me up.
I open the back of the shop and hop in.
I know my dad is extremely hard to read but something is off.
„Everything okay?" I ask.
„Nothing you should know" he responses.
„Sir don't you think that she should know her mom is..." his rookie officer Chen starts.
„Shut it boot!" he snaps at her interrupting her.
„What? What is my mom doing?" I ask worried.
„nothing Quinn I don't want you to worry!" dad says.
„Already am! Now tell me what's happening!" I say.
„Quinn I really don't think..." he says.
„Dad! Please what is happening I'm freaking out here!" I raise my voice confused.
„Okay! Okay I'll tell you but if I do you need to promise me not to speak about it to anyone!" he says.
„Yeah yeah fine! I promise now please tell me!"
„Okay, Quinn your mom is going undercover again." he says in a calm voice.
„What? She's not even on the force?" I ask confused.
„She's an informant now. Quinn your mom is a criminal. This is her way to avoid 10-20 years prison. She is going to wear a wire to a drug deal." he explains. I can see he's scared too, wich does not make me feel any better.
I had a mom who was a UC for all of my life so I know what wearing a wire to a drug deal means. I also know how dangerous it is.
„no! You guys can't do that! She'll die!" I shout.
„there is nothing I can do. They decided and it's done!" he says.
„Some nice colleagues you have there. A year ago she was working with them everyday and now they are ready to just stick a target on her! Real loyalty you've got going on there." I yell out frustrated.
„Look Quinn, I know this is hard. But I need you to promise me something. Promise me you'll stay home. Im on her rescue team so I will be the first in the door if anything goes south. I will call you directly after so you'll know we're all fine. Please Quinn I need to know your safe." he says.
I stay quiet for s second.
„Yeah I promise." I say almost whispering just letting it all sink in. My moms officially a criminal and she's going drug dealing tonight.
