His dark hazel eyes frequently glanced my way as his fingers drummed against the steering wheel.

It wasn't an awkward silence but the tension was present.

He had seen me crying and wanted to know why. He just couldn't ask.

I leaned my head against the passenger side window and gazed out towards the road.

Today had been a huge headache.

To make matters even worse, I was being driven home by my bosses son who had seen me crying on the side of the street.

I wanted to scream but I had to control myself.

I could get over this. Maybe find a new job or move to another country.

I small smile made its way onto my face at the idea.

"Feeling better?" Jacob suddenly asked.

I slightly turned my face and looked at his.

His eyes were on the road but he was watching me through his peripheral vision.

"Not really," I responded with a heavy sigh.

"Want to talk about it?" he quickly asked as he made a right turn.

"Listen Jacob, I-"

He held up his hand and shook his head. "It's fine. You don't owe me a response. I guess I'm just nosy."

I was at a loss for words.

I've never met a guy that would admit they were nosy.

A chuckle unexpectedly escaped my mouth.

"Why are you laughing?" he asked with his brow raised, looking between me and the road.

"Its nothing," I said, looking out the window with a small smile.

"Now I'm curious," I heard him mutter under his breath.

"Stay curious then," I quietly replied.

Jacob was interesting. Smart. Successful. Not to mention super handsome.

It wouldn't hurt being friends with him. Maybe something more than that one day.

I'm such an idiot. It hasn't even been an hour since seeing Alex and I'm already thinking about someone else.

I needed to get my priorities straight.

I cleared my thoughts as the car screeched to a halt in front of my apartment.

Jacob quickly parked by the entrance and got out of the car.

He ran to open my door and extended his hand for me to take.

It was a courteous gesture and I had to admit it was kind of hot.

I took his hand and stepped out of the vehicle.

He gently let go of my hand and closed the door.

I awkwardly stood in front of him, my eyes looking everywhere but him.

"So, this may be a little forward but I was wondering if you could accompany me to an event next weekend?"

I looked up at him in surprise. "Me? But you just met me. You don't know anything about me."

He chuckled and ran a hand through his hand. "You're right, I don't. But I would like to get to know you better."

IS HE ASKING ME OUT?

He seems like such a green flag that it's too suspicious.

I nervously chuckled and pursed my lips. "Uhm, well so is this like a date or-"
