I, Lena Andrews, was falling in love with someone I shouldn't.

But the series of events that led me to develop these feelings were unavoidable now that I look back.

I don't want to say we were destined to meet but all our coincidental encounters seemed like it was fate.

Alexander Thames was the fifth and youngest son of the Thames Medical Group, one of the most wealthy families in London. He possessed everything any sane woman would want in a man. Wealth, appearance and intelligence.

But he had secrets. Maybe a pained past. Nobody really knew.

He was a closed book no one could open.

From what I was told, he didn't have a personality. Apparently he was cold, rude, and oddly unlikeable.

He wasn't a playboy or a spoiled brat and was never seen with a girl. You wouldn't find him at the club or at a frat house drinking or smoking.

Students on campus would see him in class and maybe occasionally walking down the street. But that's it.

No one really knew who Alexander Thames was other than his name and family. Girls were so obsessive over him that they created rumors about him as entertainment. He became a man surrounded my implausible rumors. And yet he never denied anything no matter how bad the gossip was.

He was this mysterious guy who barely spared the general public a glance.

So when he was assigned as my mentor during my second year of law school, I dreaded having to interact with him.

I remember the girls in the room screaming at me. Some were jealous, others felt bad.

I didn't really know how to take the situation back then. So I was the first to reach out.

This is when the disaster started.
