1. Moving

My names Sophia Woods and recently I've been forced to move with my dad to Miami, Florida. I'd rather stay in New York City but of course my parents are getting a divorce and my dad got custody of me. They thought it would be better for me to move with him than stay with my mom.

But anyways I've been packing all day while my best friend Mia helped me. I'm going to miss her the most. I hate that she can't move with me. Her parents won't let her, plus she wants to go to NYU.

The only stuff I have left to pack is my everyday stuff, which I will leave out until the day before we leave. I still have 1 week left to spend with friends, or should I say friend. Mia is my only true friend. I've never liked having to talk too many people. So it's just Mia and I.

I'm really going to miss winter, it was my get away. I could stay inside and sit by a window with a fire going and hot cocoa in my hands. Being cozy and lazy, just how I like to be. But now I'm going to be hot all the time and have to see shirtless guys everywhere while I'm sweating like a pig.

As I finished putting the last thing to pack for the day Mia spoke out, "What do you want to do now?"

"Do you want to go swim in the pool? I haven't packed my swimsuits yet."

I have a pool in my back yard and I'm basically the only one who uses it.

"Sure I could use a relaxing swim."

I grab my black and teal bikini and threw Mia's at her for her to change. I let her change in the room and I went to the bathroom. All around me as I walk down the halls are boxes. It's pretty depressing to see.

I put on my bathing suit and grabbed 2 towels before I went outside.

"Mia! Meet me outside!" I yelled down the hall and went out to the pool.

I put the towels down on the table and jumped right in. It was so nice and refreshing. Since it's July it's almost 90 degrees out.

After swimming for a bit Mia came outside. She had her black hair in a messy bun. "Hey Mi can you get me a floaty? One of the doughnut looking ones."

She grabbed one for herself too.

We've been just swimming around and talking for almost 3 hours now.. Jeez how time flies.

"Sophia when are we having diner? I'm starving."

"Well I guess my parents aren't coming home anytime soon, so do you just want Chinese?"

Her eyes lite up as soon as I said Chinese food. She started shacking her head viciously.

"Okay lets go in and change."

We quickly changed into pajamas and I pulled out my phone and dialed the number. We got the usual. I'm surprised they don't know my number by heart. I call them every week.

Mia and I ended the night watching Insidious Chapter 2 with my cat, Cinderella. What she's my princess. Don't judge me.

We fell asleep around 3 in the morning. I wasn't even tired but I forced my self.
