Being in Florida is nothing like being in New York. It may be warmer and sunnier but it's more depressing. I only know 1 person here and it's my dad, whenever I go for a walk I see old people everywhere practically wearing nothing. Talk about gross.

I haven't been sleeping the same. I got to bed as early as 3 a.m and wake up as late as 9 a.m and I'm never tired.

I just got out of the shower and threw on jean shorts and a faded pink Mickie mouse shirt with white converse. I left my hair natural, which is a curly wave. I did a simple make up, just mascara and eyeliner doing a small wing.

Semi satisfied with how I look I grabbed my phone and went for a walk.

I walked for about an hour before I found a quiet place to sit and think. No body was around. Just how I like it.

I thought myself into a dark place. I felt a couple tears running down my face. I missed Mia and my mom and my old home. Being here was not home it was hell. Soon the tears were uncontrollable.

I could hear someone walking towards me and eventually sat down next to me. I didn't even bother trying to stop crying. Why should I care if they see me a mess?

Finally the person spoke up. "Come on now, pretty girls don't cry?"

I looked up at the boy wiping my eyes and shot back, "Who said I was fucking pretty?"

"I-I'm sorry.." He looked down at his hands.

I looked away and tried to calm myself down.

"Umm.. Can I ask something?"

I didn't bother looking at him but I nodded my head slightly.

"Why are you crying? I hate seeing girls cry."

"I miss being home." I spoke softly.

"Then why don't you go back?"

"Because it's all the way in New York but I can't go there anytime soon." I looked at the boy.

"I can tell you're sad but... Do you want to hang out with my and my friends? We're just at the park messing around."

"Look kid I don't even know your name."

"Well we can change that. I'm Austin Mahone and I'm 17 years old. And if you want to know more you will have to come with me."

"Okay I'll hang out with you but I have to call my dad first and fix my face."

He giggled at me and we walked into a near by cupcake shop so I can go to the bathroom and call my dad.

I cleaned up my face and called my dad. It was a quick call since he doesn't usually care what I'm doing.

I walked out seeing Austin sitting and eating a chocolate cupcake with another one across from him.

"What? Are you going to eat 2?"

He looked and me and smiled shaking his head, "No 1 is for you. And by the way you still haven't told me your name.."

I grabbed the cupcake and spoke, "I'm Sophia Woods and I'm 16 turning 17."

"Okay Soph lets get going."
