Dear all who may be reading this including me,
The time is 11:45 PM. I am about to make my way to Ravenhurst to get my book back.
Today was relatively uneventful, especially since I did not have the book with me. Last night, however, I performed the divinatory ritual. I drew a circle of chalk and placed candles on the edges. I then put a dark bowl of water in the middle and meditated while chanting Kahvefu. I felt Kahvefu's presence and caught his figure in the corner of my eye but I kept focusing on the bowl of water. Eventually, I saw images of my situation. I felt Kahvefu was guiding that part. It confirmed that Mr. Ludwig was the one that stole my book, but it also gave a hint to his nefarious intentions with it. In the water, I saw a glimpse of the man conversing with what appeared to be a cloaked, dark figure - almost smoke-like. He was holding my book and turned to a page I never seen before. It was a diagram of a new ritual circle, which Mr. Ludwig began drawing with chalk. He chanted something I've never heard before and sliced his palm deeply with a blade, letting out a river of blood go down his hand into a bronze bowl. I wanted to see more but couldn't. Eventually, I did the portion of the ritual to enhance my divinatory abilities. I drew the symbols as best as I could from my memory around the bowl and once again chanted Kahvefu's name. I felt a surge of energy rush around my head. I felt very lightheaded, and when I opened my eyes again all I could see was darkness. At the end of the darkness was Kahvefu. He approached me in an eerily manner - like a ghost woman floating throughout a room. He told me to be careful when retrieving my book and that Mr. Ludwig is more dangerous than he seems. He also told me that the ritual I just performed will enhance my psychic capabilities as well and to use that to my advantage. It was overall vague but appreciated nonetheless.
I snapped out of my trance and returned to the physical. Kahvefu was gone and the candles mysteriously blew out. I needed to rest and so I did. I ended up having a nightmare. I was in a dark room, only lit by a few candles. As I walked around I felt a presence behind me. When I turned around I saw nothing. But after looking around some more, I saw a pair of yellowish eyes glimmering in the darkness. The eyes were wide, almost the size of pool balls, and had an expression of anguish. I stared at them for a few moments when suddenly the figure with the eyes rushed towards me. I could not move - only watch as the figure quickly grabbed my throat and began strangling me, its yellow eyes still looking into mine and its pitch black body enveloping mine.
I woke up gasping for air. I had a feeling the nightmare had something to do with what Mr. Ludwig did last night, and I more than ever needed the book back.
The rest of the day I spent in relative silence. I decided to stay in and meditate most of the day. Delaney invited me to hang out in the afternoon but I told her the day after tomorrow was best. Mental preparation for this plan is key, and so I did just that.
Sincerely,
Douglas.
