Late evenings were Maya's favorite time during the summers to go outside in the garden and enjoy a cup of coffee, especially if she could get some nice shots of the sunset or if she could hear the birds. But, lately, she knew that she didn't have to do most of those things anymore. Maya loved photography, and although she knew that she could still do it, with the marriage that she was stepping into it just came that she wouldn't want to pursue a kind of life outside the businesses that she and Josh would take over.
"This seem peaceful," Katy said as Maya smiled.
"Yeah, it does," Maya said as she spotted how Josh came into the backyard.
"I'll leave you two to talk," Katy said as she went back into the house.
"My mother isn't very subtle," Maya said as Josh sat down next to her.
"She's always been like this so doesn't bother me much. How are you doing today?" Josh asked as Maya exhaled and itched her scalp.
"My day got interesting with a very special visit from Mama Amy due to the flowers that aren't the right color in the slightest and the whole chair setting being wrong," Maya said as Josh chuckled and she slapped him.
"That's not funny. She's gonna drive me insane by Friday," Maya said as Josh shook his head looking at her.
"That's my mother for you, I guess," Josh said.
"Can she be a little less your mother then? I thought we had agreed to do something simple and the things she wanted wasn't that," Maya said.
"Yeah, no, I know, and I also spoke with her last week. And she said she would back off," Josh said.
"Bright pink isn't exactly my idea of the perfect wedding flowers. Speaking of that..." Maya said as she went inside the house and came out with a bouquet of flowers.

"Wow, oh my gosh. They are definitely... bright," Josh said as Maya chuckled and gave him another bouquet.

"The first one is from my mother, isn't it?" Josh asked as Maya nodded.
"This one that I have currently in my hands are beautiful. Almost as gorgeous as you are. And I think they are perfect. If Mom gives you too much trouble let me deal with her," Josh said as Maya nodded.
