History is written by victors. When Emperor Kyzm was still alive the world only knew of his glory and magnanimity yet within the reign of Empress Supreme if there was any noble figure in Gaerin then it were Late Prince Vzeus and Princess Lyra.
Citizens of Gaerin in the desolate months of cold winter approaching wove small pouches of silk and placed common herbs along with several copper coins within it to donate it to the temple and poor in the last month of autumn since that was when Prince Vzeus was born, aristocrats believed that his highness served as a protecting spirit to the lands of Gaerin and often sent their daughters to light incense in the temple in the month to gain his guidance as a deity and honor by the name by ancestors.
It was said that during King Fleunix's time, the grandfather of Empress Supreme and King Kyzm the soil had lost its fertility due the horrendous taxes on the citizens thus starving many yet since the current empress, the daughter of the goddess has settled her sights on Gaerin- it was rich and prosperous.
If asking the common men their monarch was the goddess, when consulting the aristocrats she was a symbol of stability and valor but if a person had the privilege to ask Lilith's biggest supporters and closest aides that had watched her deep schemes then she was a demoness descending directly from the underworld and did not valued blood or realtions.
Making Prince Vzeus into an honorable figure was not simply about fatherly love but also to make all the empires slowly cultivate and think what her own citizens thought- that she was of a descent that cannot be challenged and the blood flowing in her veins was noble and pure like that of Her highness Saintess Helixis.
Going against her was going against the goddess of war and mercy. When the woman was slowly led out of the mahogany palanquin with the help of her husband she was dressed according to imperial palace's norms but at the same time had her own variations, there was no long trailing dress that could prohibit her movement but rather a simple dress made of the the ephiliym silk in blood red colour that displayed her exquisite beauty.
The crown wasn't considered necessary thus her hair were clutched using a single large teardrop diamond from the Northwestern mountains in platinum while her long silk hair of onyx color flowed down the waist.
Yet that was not what made the entire palace of the Great Eastern desert stop and stare without blinking, the Empress Supreme was once a child playing in the courtyards of the palace thus every servant was well aware of her identity and stature thus they did not had faces of shock and unfathomable rage as that on the face of Baez nor they had trouble breathing as Princess Quare in her under the veil which hid her face but.....weren't the Prince of Grevian too similarly dressed as that of the Empress of Gaerin?
She had a diamond decorating her head like a tiara while he had a similar one clutched as a broach on the ink fabric of his cloak. She was dressed in red while the Prince had his red cloak accompanying the black clothes. They came seperately but even the golden sword on the once general was similar to the dagger that was reflecting at the thigh visible from the long slit of the dress.
"Your majesty Emperor Rial, this Empress present my auspicious greetings."
The male smiled gently yet there were some misgivings in his eyes reflecting, hidden by the lashes that bowed with frustration. Why was this prince of Grevian wearing same clothes as Lilith? It appeared somewhat unpleasant to him.
Lilith had only said some gentle words when the male accompanying her came forward and stood beside her as if saying that it was good that people were envious of his position besides Lilith.
"This Prince greets his highness Emperor Rial of Daxtros and hopes that the relations between our empires would continue to prosper."
If normal people watched it then it was a group that has high bred nobles with gentle words but upon looking closely there was some sort of animosity.
Lilith sighed in her heart, Rial was a good man, even a better friend so it wasn't like she hadn't had people telling her that they would be a good match, even she thought the same.
She knew the heart of the Emperor of Daxtros but she never had much emotions attached to him. There was affection but no attraction, there was respect but no passion. She could never give him what he truly deserved so the best way possible was to not conceal her intentions. Furthermore Azarios.....even his name was enough to make her heartbeat erratic, she liked Rial as a close confidant, she loved Azarios as her husband and beloved....there was no comparison.
"This Emperor has heard that the prince just returned now. May your reign be prosperous and abundant in hope, wealth and joy. But it looks like your highness has already met Empress Lilith."
"Met? Didn't his highness emperor know..this prince is betrothed to the Empress since once's childhood. Her majesty Empress had always belonged to this Prince so one was only accompanying one's beloved."
If Rial was shocked then the astonishment had sorrow and pain, completely different from the wrath and intense hatred of the man standing with a gentle calm demeanor. He looked at Lilith as if expecting to see her raged at such words but she wasn't angry,on the contrary she looked somewhat glowing. The male felt his eyes unable to see the couple anymore.
Baez saw that person coming down from the palanquin like an ethereal goddess and she was somewhat dazzling in his eyes as he felt unable to think for a moment.
He had been thinking that his intuition was correct- The General's wife was the Empress of Gaerin.
What a great play! What a great man who had played with the entire Ambrose on his palm by pretending to be a slave and marrying a commoner. Both of them were monsters.
Earlier Emperor Alexander thought that since the wife of the General was of uncertain origins there was no one behind her to support her husband and thus their throne was safe.
They took the Ambrose royal family as petty fools that could be played like a feline chasing a mouse. But who would have known that this princess was betrothed to Azarios since childhood, if it was as such then she must have been there when he visited Gaerin.
"This one saw everyone and greeted in pleasure, its just that one forgot to pay my respect to His highness Baez."
Hands that were covered with long sleeved dress were exposed a little when she kept them in front to perform a ceremonial bow.
A bracelet made of Silian silver glinted in light blinding the male as such he stepped back in horror.Do you recognise it Baez? This Empress has returned from hell.
