Jughead Jones hadn't heard him his girlfriend all night. He had waited after school for her to come out of cheer leading practice but Veronica said she didn't turn up. Worried was an understatement. When Jughead arrived back at Archie's he filled Archie in on Betty's weird behavior. The two boys went up to Archie's room when the blonde in question was visible in her bedroom window. Jughead watched her carefully and he noticed she was wearing her cheer outfit so why didn't she turn up to practice? She spotted Jughead and Archie and when the two boys waved she just shut the curtains. "what the hell?" Jughead asked Archie. "Maybe she just had a rough day and needs space?" Archie tried to put Jughead's mind at ease. Jug thought about it and it was probably true she had been quite stressed lately. Though Betty wasn't ignoring everyone to be horrible she wanted to cover a story for the blue and gold but she knew her friends would never approve: Reggie Mantles party, where there's drugs and alcohol and wild teenagers. She wanted to uncover what really happened at a high school party. So she changed into a tight white off the shoulder dress and let her hair down and left for the party. Next door at Archie's, Veronica had come round to spend time with Jug and Archie as her best friend was ignoring everyone. They were all lounging on the couch watching some stupid reality TV show when Jugs phone began ringing. He looked at the caller ID 'Betty'. He was quick to answer but when he did the other end of the line cut off. "That was odd." Veronica said looking at Jug. "Text her dude." Archie chipped in. So that's what he did:
Jughead: Hey Betts you okay? Did you ring?
Betty: HelLo Juggiehead
Jughead: ermm Betty are you okay?
Betty: obviously I aM I'm SO HAPpyTurning his phone to show the others. Their faces were showing just as much concern as Jugs. "Well I know her parents are away this weekend so there's no point asking them if she's okay." The group decided to ring her again.
"Helloooo?" Betty shouted down the phone.
"Betts? Where are you?" All they could hear down the phone was loud music.
"I'm working." She hiccuped.
"Working? Where?"
"On a story at Reggies party but don't tell Jug, Archie or Veronica they will be Verryyy sad." She slurred.
"Elizabeth are you drunk?!" They all said, and then she hung up.
They made their way to Reggies house where they instantly spotted Betty dancing on a table. "Come on party girl." Veronica said helping Betty down. "How much have you had to drink?" Archie asked as Betty collapsed onto him. "She's had at least 6 cups." Some random drunk shouted at them. "Jug help me here." Archie said as the two boys balanced Betty on them and escorting her from the party with Veronica following behind. "I don't feel to good." Betty mumbled as they were halfway down the street. Suddenly she hunched over and was sick all down her dress. "Oh God." She said then burst into tears. "Hey Betty, your okay come on let's get you home." Once they got to Betty's they all agreed to stay over, Veronica helped Betty undress and get in the shower while the boys set up makeshift beds on her floor. Archie, Veronica and Jughead sat in Betty's room waiting for her to come back in from putting her pajamas on. When she came back in she was crying and crawled into bed without saying another word. Veronica and Archie climbed into their beds on the floor while Jughead got in next to Betty and they all drifted off to sleep.
