The flight she almost got

Chapter 2

Jake closed the door behind him walking over to the mini bar in his room, he picked up one of the small bottles of alcohol drinking it all in one go. He picked up another and slumped down in a chair, his mind thinking about everything that's happened. The whole reason why they had come to Miami was to catch a murderer that had gone unsolved for many years. Jake had narrowed it down to a couple of suspects and was waiting for everything to unfold.
Had he lost MC for good? Is there going to be a chance he can win her back and tell her just how he feels about her? Jake is knocked from his thoughts by a knock at the door before he can answer when a man comes in with a gun pointed at Jake. "What the hell? Why are you here?" Jake had a look of confusion laced on his face at the events in front of him. "I was told to come here, I got told you had the murderer'' Jake looked at Ray standing in the doorway. "You want a drink? I've got whiskey, gin, vodka" Ray put his gun down and took a small bottle of vodka from Jake.

They both sat talking for a while then the doors leading to the patio swung open, it was Paul the teenage kid they had spoken to at the beginning of the investigation. "Paul? What are you doing here?" Paul lowered the gun and a look of confusion spread across his face. "The murderer, I was told the murderer was here" Jake sat up from his chair and got up putting the empty bottle of whiskey down on the table. "what? No, the murderer isn't here who told you this?" Jake walked over to the mini bar and asked Paul what he wanted to drink. Jake handed Paul a small bottle of gin and sat back down.

"I don't get any of this, what is going on? Why haven't you caught the killer" Paul slammed the empty bottle down on the table. "Look just hold on, everything will become clear soon" Ray stood up and grabbed another drink from the fridge. "I loved her, you know, I really loved her, she made me feel what it was like to love again." Jake paused listening to what Ray was saying. "I have to go to the airport feel free to stay mini bar is on the FBI"

Just as Jake was about to leave two women came bursting into the room, one holding a gun. "Sarah? What are you doing here? And what's Amy doing with you? Don't tell me you got told to come here?" Sarah kept the gun pointed at everyone in the room. "I know it was Ray who killed Emma, I know it was him" Jake put his phone behind his back and sent an SOS to his boss who was sitting downstairs. Moments later Jake's boss Dennis and agent cho came bursting through the room. "Jake what's going on?" Dennis walked towards Jake wanting to know what was going on.

"I need your car keys, where are they? Please I need to go" Dennis looked at Jake with a confused look. "Why do you want my keys?" A sense of urgency was laced in Jake's voice. "I need to get to the airport, please I need your keys" Dennis handed Jake his keys before he ran out of the room he let everyone know who the killer was. "The killer is Sarah, she couldn't handle how successful Emma was getting and when the spotlight moved from her to Emma she decided to kill her"

Everyone stood in shock at what Jake had just said as he went running out of the room to get into the car and race to the airport. Jake drove as fast as he could once he arrived at the airport he checked the flight's board and went running towards the gate. "FBI please I need to get passed" Jake pleaded with the women to let him last "can I see some ID please, I can't let you past without ID"

The disappointment showed on Jake's face and he backed away trying to find another way to get to the plane. He couldn't let MC leave without telling her how he really felt he had to stop the plane at all costs.

He went running through the airport trying to figure out a way of getting to the plane, an idea struck him he knew just how to get to the plane before it took off. It was now or never now was his chance to tell MC just how much he loved her.
