I know it was a while  since I updated my work, so this big chapter is my big apology for that. I tried to gather all the essential events from my work so you don't need to reread the previous chapters to recall what had happened. This chapter is being told by Wednesday first and by Xavier afterwards.

POV Wednesday

Last night was warm, even hot, I would say. Being sweaty and tired, I tossed and turned in my bed, I couldn't manage to make myself fall asleep, thinking about certainly a wrong thing, even if there was still nothing between Xavier and me. Among the shadows of the night I saw his face, enlightened by flames from the fire place of the living room. His luminous glance danced its devilish dance so wildly in my memory that I almost believed in hell - my own place for a pleasant torture.

I couldn't sleep till the morning because of thoughts about Xavier so he had to pay for that. That was 7 a.m., and I was positive that he was still asleep so I was pumped to death to drag him out of his neousuius sweet dreams. Having chosen the way, how I would wake Xavier up (a gong and a mouthpiece were a part of my marvellous idea), I got down the stairs. However, my plan failed miserably: Xavier was wide awake, he sat on the couch, being leaned forward, and looked at the screen of the phone.
- Gross morning, - my eyebrows almost met each other and I kept the tone of the voice low.
- Morning, Wednesday, - Xavier smiled once he saw me and hid the mobile phone in the pocket. - You wanted to go to Nevermore for a research, right? Let's go now, - Xavier stood up.
Excitement boiled my blood. Adventure called me and inner fire filled in the abyss that people tend to call "soul".

We made it to Nevermore in several hours by Xavier's motorcycle. It was bucketing down and the wind willed to blow us away. Regarding the law of meanness, the rain stopped when we came quite close to the school:
- The last thing left is to get inside, - I mentioned while we both were staring at the high gates of Nevermore. - I could try to pick the lock but I do not think that a watcher would be happy with it. Thing is not here to help us as well.
- I guess I have an idea, - Xavier headed to an opposite side from the gates, moving along the fence, and I barely managed to follow him.
In a minute we looked at the high fence:
- I will help you get over, - Xavier observed the fence from the lowest point to the highest one.
- I don't need your help, - I growled and rapidly turned my head to Xavier. My eyes were colder than the rain that poured us on the way here.
- Of course, you don't, - Xavier shrugged his shoulders and rolled his eyes. - Aren't you afraid of breaking your neck?
- No, - I answered too quickly. - I consider it as a chance to immerse myself into the cold dark waters of death. What is more, I am not afraid of anything. Apart of pink, - it felt wrong to acknowledge my weakness. - The bottom line is I can get over the fence by myself, - the emphasis was on "can".
- Got you, - Xavier gave a quiet laugh that freaked me out even more. - Then I am getting over.

I nodded and in a several moments Xavier was on another side of the fence, having done it so easily like he was a feather that was brought to another side with the wind. He got close to the bars, squeezing his face between them:
- Don't worry, I am here and I won't let you fall, - I perceived it as a teasing. Maybe, I was wrong.

The fence was high, but I considered myself to be skilful enough to get over it without any help. I turn out at the top of it in a snap of a finger. When I made a decision to jump, I bounced off the concrete being ready to land on my feet, but suddenly my foot slipped off. I was about to break all 206 bones in my body but someone's hands caught me and carefully put on the ground.
- Thank you, - I mentioned after a short pause, nodding. - Thank you for not letting me turn into a pancake. You can let go of my waist now.
- My hands are always ready to save you, - Xavier said, demonstratively putting his hands up.
- I can save myself, - I noted confidently and turned around pretending that I was looking for something.
- Yes, you can, - Xavier seemed to speak with no sarcasm. - Just don't jump from anything if I am not with you, Miss I-can-get-over-the-fence-by-myself, - Xavier would not be Xavier without sarcasm so here it was.
- Do you know that it's quite possible to break the neck even if you are not jumping from anything? Especially if someone helps...
