Before You

Chapter 3

When we got home, we called my cousin, Marley to come over and make cookies with us. Marley lives in the same area as Kambrie and I and the three of us hang out all the time. We are rarely seen apart

A few minutes later she came to our apartment and walked in since we gave her a key

"Hey Marley" Kambrie and I said at the same time. That's something Kambrie and I tend to do

"Hey guys! What cookies are we making?" Marley asked us while walking into the kitchen to join us

"We're making Sugar cookies because it's Christmas is next week, you sped freak" Kambrie says to Marley in a joking matter. Marley laughs and helps us get out the ingredients

Marley puts on one of her spotify playlists and we start making the cookies

As we were mixing the dough, a really good song came on and I grew curious as to what the song was

"Marley, what song is this?" I asked.

"It's Sugar Sweet by Benson Boone" She says back to me after she turns her phone on to check

I look at Kambrie to see she was looking back at me with a flabbergasted expression

"Show us a picture of him" Kambrie asks Marley. She pulls up a picture and we all huddled around her phone to see a guy in a blue shirt with a mustache and brown curly hair singing into a microphone

"What's so weird about that? What are you looking at each other like that?" Marley asks us

"Should I tell or do you want to?" Kambrie asks me

"I want to, you sick freak" I tell Kambrie. Kambrie and I have been calling each other "freaks" since the 8th grade so we don't take offense to it

"We were at the grocery store today and we saw a really cute guy and he asked me for my number and guess what his name was?" I asked Marley

"What was it" She replied

"Benson Boone" I replied. After I told that to Marley she started fangirling a little bit

"OH MY GOSH! HE ASKED YOU FOR YOUR NUMBER! GIRL, HIS MUSIC IS SO GOOD! YOU'RE SO LUCKY" She practically screamed at me

"I know. I caught her staring. Big time" Kambrie teased. I rolled my eyes at her.

Marley unpaused her music and we got back to work on the cookies

After we put the cookies in the oven I felt my phone buzz in my pocket. I took out my phone to see the notification I got. I tried my best not to freak out when I saw that Benson had texted me, but I failed and let out a little squeal

"What happened" Marley asked me. I guess they heard me

"Benson texted me" I said with my hand over my mouth in disbelief

Kambrie and Marley ran over to me and hovered of my phone as I opened the text from Benson

I nervously clicked on the text notification

Benson
Hey, Gorgeous ;)

I just about fainted
