A few days and a lot of cleaning and punishment later the girls managed to leave after breakfast again.

"Where have you been?!", Mikelson asked way too nervous when he opened the door.

"Punishment."

"So, they said no?"

"No, they said they have to think if they adopt all of us. Lola told them she has sisters and we got punished for it."

"Sorry to hear."

"I mean you didn't want us, so let's hope some else does....unless you change your mind.", Jane cheekily said.

"Listen, I think you are very nice, but I can't and won't adopt you."

"Why not?"

"Because I can't."

"Are you scared?"

"I am not scared. I just can't."

"Why not!? We helped you with your problem too!"

"Are you seriously comparing my reflection with taking care of three living beings for the rest of eternity?!"

"Yes! Because we actually care about you! We thought you do to."

"I really appreciate your effort, but never ever will I adopt you!"

"Why not?!", Jane yelled.

"Because I don't want kids!", Mikelson yelled back, realizing what he just said.

"Okay, I should've known. I don't care, but I at least hoped you would give Emily and Lola a better life. Let's go.", Jane said with teary eyes and took her sisters' hands and left.

Lola and Emily looked at him with shock and disappointment, tears streaming down their faces.

"F*CK!", he yelled at the closed door, Andreas standing next to him.

"Why did you say that?"

"Leave me alone.", he turned into a bat flew to the ceiling.

"That's not an answer."

"F*ck off."

"Okay."

"I knew he was an asshole.", Jane jumped on her bed.

"Maybe he was as stressed as you."

"I am not stressed. This was our only hope to not land the street."

"Maybe the Edwards will say yes?"

"Better hope."

"Everything will be okay."

"I hope."

In the evening, Andreas went upstairs to grab the small sleeping bat from the ceiling, preventing him from falling down. Unlike real bats Mikelson tends to relax too much and fall down, in most cases he doesn't hurt himself but there were times he had nightmares and woke up turning back to his tall skinny appearance, hitting the floor, which sometimes resulted in broken bones or bleeding, second causing him to faint because he got almost scared of blood due to his bad allergy.

He went to bed, petting the small furry creature in his hands, he placed him on the pillow and waited, knowing he would turn back any moment.

"Sorry.", he mumbled when the grey cloud disappeared.

"Don't worry. But why did you say that?"

"I don't know....I got nervous."

"It's okay, maybe a little break isn't too bad."

"Yeah, maybe. I love you."

"I love you too my little overdramatic bat."

"Changed my mind I hate you.", he giggled.
